Description:
1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS SS L78
1969 Camaro RS SS 396 L78 ProjectThis is a real RS L78 car that currently rolls and steers, has had some restoration done to it, but still needs finished. Please read the entire ad before asking questions or bidding. I will also be happy to show the car before the auction ends. This is an incomplete project car, if its not listed in the ad, its NOT included. It will need disassembled and completely restored. It has front clip on to make transportation easier. I purchased the car off ebay a year and a half ago. Ncrs report shows sold new at Economy Chevy in Ellwood City PA. No other paperwork. It was found in a storage unit in PA where it had been since 1975. The seller had zero knowledge of cars. I have a copy of the ad. The ad caught the attention of other knowledgeable Camaro people and I got into a bidding war and won. Because the car was in storage for so long, it didn't have a title. I asked the seller if there was any way possible he could get one and he went into his local PA bmv and the clerk printed him a rebuilt title because the car was a project in pieces. Not wrecked. So the title I have, which is now in my name, is a rebuilt title. Please be aware of this before bidding. I have pics of the car as I received it. I then took the car to a local sheet metal guy and had full quarters, trunk center, and both floor halves welded on. They do need finishing, I would consider them "roughed in". There is still rust along the base of the windshield, the replacement panel is included. I didn't want to have that replaced because it involves removing the cluster and factory tach, one of the signs of L78. Ive been on the schedule with Jerry M to have verified before continuing the build. At this point I'm ready to move on. Its just sat for over a year. Ive got other cars to enjoy, and I don't have the talent or the patience for a total project anymore.
Car was born Rally Green. black top with black deluxe interior. L78 4 speed, cowl hood, no spoilers, console, tach and gauges. It will be a beautiful and very rare car once completed. Has firewall lines for RS and cowl hood. Original RS tail panel. X2 on bulkhead. Front disc brakes. X22 tag, original and never removed. 6k tach. Single, 3/8 fuel line. BB heater box. Hidden vin match. BB cross member. Original, matching numbers m21 Muncie that has been freshly rebuilt. What is included- It has a 12 bolt rear end, it is not the original, but is 69 Camaro. No clue on gears. Matching numbers m21. The bottom part of the rear seat ONLY. NO fronts. This is all that was in the storage unit with it. The rally wheel on it are all 4 dated to the car. All the sheet metal I had put on are AMD. Front and rear bumper cores. Some of the RS headlight buckets. The original wiring harness. Side glass and regulators, rear glass, no windshield. There is NO MOTOR included. This is all that is included. I have dated drivetrain and lots of other parts I will make the buyer a good price on but are not included with this sale.
This is an incomplete project car and is being sold AS IS. Buyer is responsible for transportation. A $500 non refundable deposit via paypal is due within 24 hours of the end of the auction. Balance is due within 5 days of the end of the auction via cash or wire transfer. Your bid is what your going to pay if you win and reserve is met. Please don't think that's an invitation to come and pay a different price. Title is a rebuilt title that Ive already ran thru the bmv process and is in my name. Mileage is exempt, not actual mileage.
