Description:
1973 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
I,have finally gotten tired of car shows- time to make room in the garage .1973 Camaro Z28 - this is an original car with 10,195 documented miles. The car has been a show car since day one. I have complete owner history, window sticker, pictures from original owner when first delivere, in April of 1973 . Original owners wedding pictures in the car in June of 197, letters from the original owner about his ownership of the car.I also have pictures from the second owner who purchased it in 1991 with 2,800 miles on it. I have spoken with the remaining owners- and have their info on the car.
The car is stunning, to say the least the original code 74 dark red is beautiful and the white stripes set it off beautifully .The paint ismostlyoriginal with the top of the right fender being refinished, from what we were able to trace this was scratched and redone while in the third owners procession. It looks great - just want it noted. There is over 60+ hours in polishing the original paint alone. (see pictures)
Black STD interior, no console,Am Radio-works great- front and rear factory speakers
The car is numbers matching from front to bac, L-82350 V8, 4 speed M-21 trans, 3:73 posi rear.
The original owner put a different exhaust syste, koni shocks, Crager SS wheels -and Hurst shifter in the car. I Have the Koni shocks but the Crager wheels were taken off by the second owner and are gone. The second owner installed factory 5 spoke Z28 wheels (late dated wheels) and original Wide ovals tires. I located wheels dated for the car as close as I could find for the cars build date. The wheels were refinished correctly -yes correct raised bow tie center caps are on the car. I have the 4 Firestone Wide Oval F60-15 tires for the car.Two of the tires are off the wheels and the other two are still mounted- was concerned about damaging them so left them on the wheels.
I had a Gardner exhaust system installed on the car and a complete original/correct dated smog system wasobtained from Bill Hodel. Reproductionspiral shocks areinstalled .I also located the correct shifter and all correct numbered linkage - had it rebuilt and refinished - and installed . I also had to replace the heater core-the original dated one was saved and goes with the car- tried to have it redone and the shops here advised against it. So a new one was installed by Joe's second Generation Camaros.
The car scored platinum in 2016 with the highest second generation scoregiven out at the Camaro nationals that weekend, and is a bench-mark car for the 1973 cars. The original owner was reunited with the car during the show. The judges were amazed how the finishes of the hardware in the trunk had not changed color . Those that have seen the car are amazed at its condition .
There are paint marks, factory sticker, other factory marks - all over the car- drive shaft, rear, front spring, master cyl, power steering pump, fire wall to name a few. If you are looking for one of the best - the car runs and drives beautiful . Where is the next one?
