Description:

1964 Chevrolet Impala Biscayne

1964 Chevrolet Biscayne sedan. Car has been in eastern Virginia since new. I purchased the car from family of original owners in 2003. Less than 52,000 original miles. Unfortunately for me, car had surface rust that was hidden by a brand new paint job done just before car was put up for sale. The surface rust seen in the photos began to appear within a a few months after I bought the car and has been stable for the past few years.
Tires, radiator, heater core, alternator, voltage regulator, gas tank, fuel sending unit and temperature sending unit have been replaced in the past several years and have no more than 5K miles on them. Temperature sending unit was replaced because the green "cold" light didn't work due to broken terminal. It works now as it should as do the other lights and gauges. Original Chevrolet radio works intermittently and likely needs recapping. The radio is AM only and tunes only with knob, it has no push button presets. Original speaker in dash is in good shape. Original interior is in good condition with exception of the carpet which has worn spots especially by the front doors and the plastic arm rests from the rear doors which have completely shattered. Also the plastic trim piece from around the top of the rear window has come off but appears it can be reattached. Front and rear bench seats have clear plastic seat covers that appear to have been on for decades, if not since the car was new. The rear seat cover has turned yellow which accounts for the dingy look in the pictures.
Engine runs but leaks oil in various places (nothing rapid but will leave plenty of spots on driveway). Carburetor has been rebuilt and has manual choke installed, operated by a knob attached to underside of dash. Car is running rich and carburetor needs to be adjusted.
Powerglide transmission leaks fluid. When car is driven regularly, it will hold on to the fluid, but after the car sits for several weeks a large puddle will appear. Transmission shifts and operates fine in forward and reverse when proper fluid level is maintained.
I drove this car regularly to work during the spring and fall in 2010 and 2011 then moved on to driving my other cars. It has been largely sitting for the past three years and was recently started and driven around the neighborhood before putting up for sale.
Not sure if listing makes this clear, but deposit can be by PAYPAL, rest of money has to be cash in person or cashier's check.
Please remember this is a 53 year old car. I am representing it as accurately as I can based on my knowledge and have tried to give as much information as possible.
