Description:

1969 Chevrolet Caprice

1969 427 Caprice with only 82 thousand miles. It's been off the road a real long time. It appears to be all original. It has working Power windows, a Am/Fm 4 speaker radio that comes on, but no music plays. A/C that's all there, and the clutch does engage but blows out warm air. The engine is the original 427 and runs great. The oil presssure never goes below 40PSI. The Trany is the original TH 400 and works like it should. The rear end is a 12 bolt posi that is also original. The car has 4 wheel drum brakes, that were stuck from sitting for years. I had to remove the front shoes and back off the rear adjusters to get the car to roll., Because of this the brakes do not work. The floors, trunk and frame looks great. No rust through. I believe that most of the car has it's original black paint. This would be a great car to restore. I would hate to use it as a parts car but if it doesn't bring enough money that's what is going to happen to it. The hideaway head lights are all there but are not working do to the vacuum actuator's are frozen up and needs to be replaced. They look like the same ones on my 69 Camaro R/S. The 427 is running off a jug of gas from under the hood because of the bad gas in the tank. The block casting number is 3963512 and the date code is L-2-8.I couldn't locate the vin number on the block. Not in the usual spots. The stamped code on the passenger front of the block is LE. Please ask questions and I will answer them A.S.A.P. Selling for a friend. It has a clean open title from 1973. Sold as a parts car because the brakes don't work. Sold As Is. Car nor title leaves my property until I have green American money in my hand. Please remember that your buying a 48 year old car. Reserve is set very low.
