Description:
1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Convertible
Very Nice 1964 Corvair Monza Spyder Turbo Convertible 4-Speed! Burgundy with Black Top and Interior. Selling this one for a friend who can no longer drive due to Dementia.1964 was the last year of the original bodystyle and the best of the first generation. Engine dispacement increased. 1964 saw an improvement in the cars swing axle rear suspension, with softer rear coil springs to diminish roll stiffness, and more neutral handling. All models now had a front anti-roll bar as standard. Brakes were also improved with finned drums.
The original owner ordered this one knew all the right boxes to check--Top Trim Level, Biggest Engine, 4-Speed Transmission, Full Gauges (including Tach), Bucket Seats, and all wrapped in a classy color combination.
This is a fun car to drive to your local cars and coffee show, or to check out the Fall colors. I drove it about 10 miles to take the photos, and was impressed at how well a 50+ year old car drove, and handled. Whoever gets this one will be pleased...
As always, please ask any questions Before the end of the auction...I will try to answer them to the best of my ability. Note: Odometer shows 18,000, may be 118,000
