Hobbyist built, built so that anyone can jump in and drive on a moments notice. maybe you have a more traditional rat rod and want to leave your kidney belt at home, or want to drive it every day without tinkering with a carb or getting to work smelling like gas/exhaust. This truck drives straight and well, my wife drives it, my daughter too, even my mother-in-law. this truck has power steering, fuel injection, an overdrive automatic, quiet exhaust. it just cruises on the highway, 65mph is maybe 1700rpm.
this is not a show truck, I have not spent hundreds of hours carefully perfecting the body condition and laying down flawless paint. I did not grind and fill every weld with filler. this was more a preservation, fixing the structural issues and leaving the rest. there will still be rust, in places where it is not seen or structural. you would spend tens of thousands of dollars trying to perfect this body but for what it is NOW, 76 years old and tastefully preserved, it has quite a good look. I did replace everything related to safety and everything that was even slightly questionable. This is not banged together for a quick sale, I do not cut corners. I put my family in these trucks. I keep a relationship with every buyer. Buying this truck gets you invited to my 4th of july party every year I have one.
The currently unresolved issues with the truck are: cruise installed/wired/plumbed but the stalk wiring does not exactly match the truck wiring so I have not hooked it up. The AC is not fully installed, AC needs a condenser installed behind the grille and lines run. AC compressor is installed, AC evaporator is installed, everything is wired, just needs the condenser and lines installed and the system charged. The windshield regulator needs help opening and shutting. If someone uses the Buy-it-now I will go pick up a re-manufactured one from the local chevy shop. The oil pressure gauge does not move. this doesnt mean the engine doesnt have oil pressure, the TBI computer would not let the engine start with no oil pressure or a faulty pressure sender. it did work before I pulled it apart to install in the original 41 cluster. I have a new cluster coming, it will be here saturday and I will install it. The turn signal cancelling cam does not work when turning left, luckily you can see that turn signal from the drivers seat so you can click it off. The truck leaks like a colander in the rain. its a 1941, what do you expect? I will include a tarp that I strap to the cab windows when it sits outside, otherwise I recommend a garage. running boards extended 2" to match the longbed S10 frame.
front suspension: everything new with Moog problem solvers parts, upper control arms and lower control arms, bushings, ball joints, inner tie rods, outer tie rods, center link, idler arm, sway bar bushings and end links, new bell tech 3" drop spindles, new gabriel heavy duty gas charged shocks. new rotors, pads, calipers, brake hoses, front brake lines.
rear suspension: new atlas 4" drop leaf springs, new bell tech nitro drop shocks. new rear brake lines. original 3.08 rear end.

engine: 4.3 V6 TBI unknown age, truck shows 192k but engine has GM reman tag. does not leak or burn oil. new engine mounts. new cap, rotor, plugs, wires, air filter. rebuilt TBI including two new injectors, new IAC. new coolant hoses, repaired GM heater connector (common problem). new mustang radiator. new fuel tank, fuel tank straps, fuel pump, fuel sending unit fuel filter. starts right up and idles perfectly. runs well, does not leak or burn oil. fresh oil change with Mobil 1 and Wix filter.
transmission: 700R4 unknown age, has GM reman tag. Shifts well, no issues, 4th gear at 45mph and TCC right after, no vibrations. new trans mount. chevrolet colorado drive shaft.
cab: 41 cab with original VIN tag on firewall. NEW windshield frame, new glass and seals, rebuilt door latches and window regulators, doors open and close correctly and windows only take one finger. new window channels and upper rubber seals. new carpet, newly recovered seats, painted dash. new energy suspension polyurethane body bushings, I designed and constructed the steel body mounts. all new hardware. Vintage Air mini system with defrost. heater and defrost work great.
electrical: S10 harness complete, all lights/bulbs replaced, has front turn signals in the factory location, taillights are 54-59 stainless with LED. new brake light switch and cruise switch.
truck had a 47-53 longbed and rear fenders when I bought it, replaced it with a correct 41 short bed and 41 rear fenders. Cedar bed wood treated with timber oil.

questions 9/20: did you paint this truck to look this way? I didnt, I have included a picture of the truck as found in the mud last year, its the last picture.
do you have any videos of the truck starting, running, driving? I will take one tomorrow and upload it to youtube.

questions 9/21: is there room to add the AC? yes, all it needs to have AC is a condenser added in front of the radiator, the AC lines kit from summit or vintage air (dryer, expannsion valve, trinary switch) and the lines run to the evaporator that is already installed, then have the system charged. The controls are already wired for the AC.
where is the remaining rust? there is some rust on the non-visible portion of the cowl, and some rust through at the bottom of the front fenders.
could I drive this truck to my home? I build these trucks to drive everyday, but luck favors the prepared!
here is the link to the video of the truck starting and driving, you may have to copy and paste it. https://youtu.be/QBwuGmYo3zA

questions 9/22: I am a bigger guy, will I fit in this truck? Probably, I am a big guy, over 6 ft and soft in the middle and I fit just fine. I spent a lot of time fine tuning the seat angle and the tilt steering column.
Do you offer delivery to my state? I will help with delivery around 350 miles from Wichita KS, thats about as far as I would want to haul a trailer. otherwise you will need to pick it up or arrange shipping.
Where is the gas tank? The gas tank is the S10 saddle tank, it is on the drivers side inside the frame. you can see the filler in the 19th picture. I have plugged the original tank grommet with a filler cap glued in place.
Where does the truck leak in the rain? Mostly the windshield gasket, it is stiff and new and doesnt seat flush on the cab, although it has gotten better over time. The doors leak around the edges in blowing rain. the rear window has cracks in the original gasket. The firewall and floor are sealed. I have never driven in the rain, there are no wipers.
I also should mention, I replaced the headliner and the steering column lower bearing. the steering shaft is a borgeson collapsible shaft and I only use borgeson u-joints on these trucks.

questions 9/23: what I was asking about the paint is did you paint the rear fenders? is there any bondo in the body? ok I get your question now. the passenger rear fender had a huge, watermelon sized, hole rusted through it, like a tarp or towel was sitting on it for years. the rest of the fender was in good shape. I patched the hole with a piece from a junk fender and painted just that section white. there is evidence of some filler on the fender edges but it all looks older than me. please do not expect perfection, the truck is covered in dings, cow kicks, dents, bends, tears, bumps and crinkles. I did not use any filler on the piece I added, just paint.
what is your reserve?: more than the current bid, less than the buy-it-now.
also, on the oil pressure, I did get the new gauge cluster today and tested it. the oil pressure is ~55psi cold and ~20psi warmed up. I will install it tomorrow, and I will use a second 41 cluster I have so that the glass isnt cracked. I am also installing kick panels, and a horn spring. good luck to you all.
