I bought this truck from a older gentleman out of the Minnetonka Min. area. I heard about this truck through a local car club member who knew I was into collecting, buying, and selling old trucks so he called me about it. I got to the guys house and this truck was stored inside his garage for what looked like a while (he last had it on the road in 99 I was told) It was covered in dust and misc. things. This was a true Barn Find! I got in there to take a look and saw that this truck was a very solid original body and complete. I bought it, brought it home here to iowa and had my guys get it running (took a hour). The engine was free so it got going rather easily with some tune up parts/carb rebuild, aux gas tank etc. I had my guys update the rear brake cylinders, line, master, etc. The body we did not do anything to except shoot it in two coats of base coat clear coat to preserve the look. How you are looking at it is how we got it. Make sure to study the video, while there are minor blemishes, rust spots, patina etc, it is pretty solid for being unmolested for the last 19 plus years. nothing too crazy. Normal spots like the cab corners etc look good. The floors look good and I was told at one time, someone replaced the metal in the floor. There is a metal sheet welded into the rear bed. there was no wood under it. Again study the pics and more importantly the video so you can see what it is. The truck has a nice visor on it. I noticed good exhauston it that looks newer. The tires look like farm tires etc, the rears are a tad bigger than the fronts that gives the truck a nice aggressivesit. The truck runs good. It fired up right away after we put plugs etc on. after we let it sit, i had to prime it some so the carb could use a really good cleaning /rebuild. the brakes stop the truck well. the truck is running off a aux tank for fuel as the original looked dirty and I did not want to risk using it, it should be cleaned out or replaced (pretty affordable LMC truck or Jim Carter truck, or ebay.) The choke is not hooked up. We only drove it for the video right after we got it runnin, it ran good like it shows, but expect to tweak it etc as you run it longer etc, we had it driving for around 20 min for the video and a total of 2 miles. was a blast driving it for that time though! All of the lights are working like they should. If you are looking for a 30k restored number one this truck is not for you, if you are looking for something you can drive and play with while you tinker with it and enjoy the heck out of it and its amazing original patina, this is the truck you have been looking for. Take it to the next level making it a 30k restored truck with a good start knowing what you are starting out with, personall, i would tweak it up some and leave the originality, but that's just me. I do not want to over call this or under call it, let the video and pics tell the story. As everyone has their own idea on what a classic surviving truck should be, I highly encourage you to come and check out the the truck at my dealership Teddys auto sales in waukon iowa or hire ebay to do a independentinspection for you.The plates and plate toppers and aux tank do not go with the truck as they are part of my personal collection. I require a 200 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end, If I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it.I can help recommend shippers i have used in the past who have been very reasonable. If you have any questions at all, call me563 568 5111or563 568 1186! thanks
