1959 Chevrolet Other Pickups APACHE SWB

Clear Missouri title in hand. Only 19,410 ORIGINAL MILES. This is an all original and everything there 1959 Chevy Apache 31. It has the original 235 inline 6 cylinder with 3 speed on the column. It has some surface rust on the bumper and a few other areas but no rust holes anywhere. (see pictures and look carefully) It was purchased new by our uncle and used briefly in his painting business. It was then passed to his son, our cousin, and he only drove it on weekends or special occasions. The battery died and it was not started for the last 15 years. It was recently acquired by the current owner, who is the cousin, and after points, plugs, brakes, oil and filer, used tires, a quick carb cleaning, and the addition of a quick add on gas tank, was started up and runs and drives. The motor runs well with a good smooth sound. It will shift, drive, and stop with no problems. The add on gas tank was due to the suspicion the factory tank may have contamination, but it is there and should be cleanable/repairable. All the gages work with the exception of the gas gage, but that may be repairable when the tank is cleaned. Someone has put a chrome mirror up high on the drivers door, but the black factory mirror is included and can be re-installed. The door seals are not in very good shape and will need replaced as you would expect for a truck that is 58 years old. The wooden bed has a big hole and needs replacement as you can see in the pictures. Although it runs after a quick carb cleaning the carb will need a proper rebuild as it leaks with the engine running like the float is set incorrectly. There was also a little antifreeze leaking out of the radiator cap as it ran, but the engine came up to a normal temperature and showed no signs of running hot. Underneath everything looks stock with no modifications. The exhaust system is factory and doesn't leak. After starting the engine it did smoke but that is probably due to the carb needing rebuilt. After running a few minutes it stopped smoking. The interior is all factory and looks pretty good with no rips or tears. All the controls feel tight with very little play as it shifts and functions smoothly. This is truly a very rare find with all parts there as it was when new, and with incredibly low milage. The possibilities for this truck are limitless. It could be fully restored, left as is, or modified any way the new owner would like.
