No reserve auction for this Cortez Silver 1970 Camaro.I purchased this car earlier this year with the idea of making it a Z28 clone and putting a 383 stroker with a 5 speed manual transmission in it.Just way to many projects for me to finish at this time so I am thinning the herd!
The previous owner rescued the car from a backyard here in Tucson where it had sat for 25 years.He completely gutted the car and did his own bodywork before getting it professionally painted the original Cortez Silver.Sadly the previous owner sucked at bodywork and chose to patch any rust holes he saw with bondo.The paint actually looks nice but you can see where the bondo repairs are bubbling at the bottom of both rear quarters and the bottom of the front fenders.The trunk pan will also need to be replaced because it is looking like swiss cheese.
Originally this Camaro had a 350 V8 and M20 4 speed transmission but both are missing.This is a no a/c car, power front disc brakes, and manual steering.Currently has a 3.31 posi 10 bolt rear end.Most of the interior is there but obviously the dash has been removed.It looks like all the wiring is intact and in good condition.The brakes do work as well as the parking brake.
