1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo This classic car has been garaged for most of its existence with careful attention to any mechanical changes. The car was repainted from the original orange factory color some 10 years ago. The fit and finish is good although not perfect with a few very minor dents and nicks. (See pics) A good body man could blend these blemishes away for not a whole lot of expense. All of the glass is good with no cracks and the windows operate as they should. The drivetrain maintains a modern 350 cu inch Chevrolet engine with four barrel carburetor. The engine and 350 transmission were totally rebuilt and perform very well. A brand new Rochester four bbl carb was recently installed. The car is equipped with power steering, power brakes and factory AC. The interior is in excellent condition after local interior guru Shuey's Upholstery replaced most bits and pieces with an all stock appearance. The vinyl top was professionally replaced 10 years agoand looks great! The wheels are classic Chevy Monte Carlo rims with Rally wheel covers and center caps, wrapped with fairly new tires and skinny whitewalls. This car for most of the past 20 years has always been garaged. The undercarriage is in great shape with only a bit of surface rust, but absolutely no rust through. Like most restorations, they are a work in progress and this car needs very few items to create a near perfect ride. The original clock in the dash does not work. Most of the overall chrome is very good to excellent with a few very small dimples here and there. Overall, this is a wonderful car, starting and driving is great. Mechanically, there are no issues to address. All of the updates were performed by professional shops. No backyard mechanics. Q u e s t i o n s ?
