1982 Chevrolet Corvette Base Coupe 2-Door

The 80's were a time of technological innovation and the sense of "forward looking" optimism that came with it. With the decade barely under way, Commodore would leverage 64 bit technology to churn out what was then the best-selling computer of all time and a bold new phase in the telecom industry would begin. This '82 Corvette is a homage on wheels to that optimism, a link between eras that's the first of its kind and the last of its kind at the same time. Its smooth, flowing lines and tapered midsection, give it a classic, yet refined appearance from all angles. It's a look that would soon give way (at least temporarily) to a more geometric approach soon after this model rolled out. The factory-correct white exterior, with vinyl pinstriping on the hood, front and rear fenders, is still in good condition and shows off all that curvature very well. With its "flip up" headlights in their down position, you can almost picture this '82 getting wind-tunnel tested while garnering admiring nods. From the signature "crossed flags" logo adorning its long, wide hood, back to its flowing door panels narrowing to the tapered tail, the look is all about curves with this 'Vette. The T-Top amplifies the overall visual effect and offers top down, open air exhilaration while avoiding any obstruction of those clean lines and reduced wind noise over ragtops. It's pretty easy to put on and take off, too.Look inside and you'll see a really nice-looking, driver-friendly interior it's the perfect bridge between Corvette's performance-centered legacy and every day, daily driver practical comfort. This is a car you could see yourself putting to use a LOT - from Saturday cruises to much longer weekend jaunts. The camel beige power bucket seats are super-supportive and well padded. They'll hold right onto you in hairpin turns but provide plenty of comfort in less challenging conditions. The steering column not only tilts, but also telescopes, so you'll be able to find the position that perfectly suits you as you log the miles. The A/C system blows plenty cold. Some serious work went into planning everything out in the audio department, too. A Kenwood AM/FM CD player fits neatly into the center console, just below the factory gauges (all of which are in working order) and just above the climate controls, while a pair of Jensen amps power a cluster of Cadence 10" speakers seamlessly fitted into an enclosure in the back. This system shows off some pretty impressive bass and it comes with a finished look that you'll appreciate as you look at the prominent Cadence logo occupying the center position. The numbers all match on the drivetrain and this is where those technological advances really come in. The 350 V8 fires right up when you turn the key, and it's fed by the Cross-Fire Injection system, Chevy's first return to fuel injection after 17 years!! Mated to a 700-R4 4 speed automatic transmission that not only sports lower first and second gears for improved acceleration than the models immediately before it, but also a fourth gear overdrive ratio, it'll give you low revs and markedly improved fuel economy on the highway. It's also got power disc brakes all the way around, so you're covered when it's time to come to a stop, and the power steering will make for effortless navigation. The car sits nice and as low, promising great cornering and looking good on its set of B.F. Goodrich T/As.Looking for a veritable automotive time capsule that shows advanced engineering for its time while retaining the classic lines of its lineage? This 'Vette is the one for you!
