Description:

1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Hardtop 2-Door

I am helping an older friend sell this car. He has had this car for approximately 12 years, but he is getting too old so we are selling off some of his projects. This car is a rather rare 4P/2L RS/SS 350 car with 4 speed manual transmission. The car has power disc/drum brakes.
Body:Most of the body work has been done on this car, and it is near ready for paint. The quarters and fenders were replaced with NOS GM panels before my friend purchased the car. The quarters were replaced with full quarter panels, and were done very well. The seam where the quarter meets the outer wheel house looks factory. The fenders are solid, as are thedoors. I know they are GM panels because they had GM stickers on them when he purchased the car.The fender liners still have the GM tags. The trunk lidis an aftermarket piece, but fits good. The hood is original and rust free. The rear pan below the taillights has been replaced with a standard pan, and would need the holes cut for the RS reverse lights. The panel behind the new pan has the factory light provisions. All of the margins are tight and consistent between the body panels.Overall, the body is in very good condition and the panels were installed professionally. It would not take much work to have the body ready for paint. The bumpers are included and have recently been re-chromedto show quality. There are two rust spots on the floor pan behind the back seat near the rear shocks that would need attention. This is a typical place for rust on these cars, and patch panels are available. The rest of the floor pans and trunk floor are solid and have no rust holes or thin metal.
Engine/transmission:The original engine and transmission are gone, and a 396/Muncie 4 speed is in their place. The engine block code has a block casting number of 3955272 and a date code of T0620JD. I believe this is a 1968 396. It is a 4 bolt block, and the internals of the engine appear to be in good condition, but would probably need to be gone through. The transmission is a 4 speed Muncie manual transmission. The numbers on the transmission are3857584, 3851325, 3831707. Based on those numbers, I believe this is a 1965 transmission from a Corvette, Chevy II or Chevelle. The engine is loosely put together and set in the car, along with the transmission, for transportation. The previous owner notchedthe sub frameto accommodatethe 396 engine pulleys (see picture).
Interior:The originalseats have been stripped, the springs have been repaired, and the frames and springs have been coated with epoxy primer. The seats are ready for reassembly. The front seat covers are included, the rear is not.All of the gaugesare included and appear to be in good condition. The door panels are included and are in good conditionNew weatherstrippingis included.
The car includes many new or original parts not pictured, however some things would need to be purchased to finish the project. Here are some items that I know are missing:Seat foamRear seat coverCarpetHeadlinerWindshieldRear glassExhaustFront bumper mountsTiresCarbWiper arms2 of the 4 rally wheels (4 center caps are included)Clutch and flywheel should be replacedWiring is included, but is original
The car is available to be viewed in Rockford IL. Clean and clear title in hand.
