Price: - Item location: San Francisco, California, United States
Description:

1960 Chevrolet Corvette Base Convertible 2-Door

This 1960 Corvette Roadster features an extremely rare numbers matching 283/250 horsepower V8 fuel injected engine, correct restored Rochester FI unit one of only 100 produced that year, making it one of the scarcest 1960 Corvettes produced. The car also has its original four-speed manual transmission which all fuel injected cars were fitted with that year due to the horsepower increase, along with it's rare original 4.11 "AP" posi-traction designated rear axle. Rare and desirable color combination in Original Honduras Maroon with white cove.
Optioned with auxiliary hardtop and soft top, T-10 4 speed transmission, fuel injection, wonderbar radio, courtesy light, deluxe heater, fan drive, sunshade and 6.70x15" wide whitewall tires. Most all factory correct type components have been restored and are still in tact with the car and are date specific. Documented original San Francisco car originally sold at Ellis Brooks Chevrolet, driven in the 60's and was parked in the 70's for over 35 years in a San Francisco garage until I took ownership in 2010. Still has its original owners manual, owner protection book, sales brochure, copy of window sticker, old registration dating back to the 60's and so on.
Only one repaint on a solid original body. Since this car was so pure, many of the original components were restored rather than replaced, still showing original patina in the interior and a few other areas. The entire mechanics under the hood were recently restored and rebuilt over the last year, including the fuel injection unit rebuilt and tuned by FI guru Jerry Bramlett. This is an extremely rare, documented fuelie corvette, most interesting never leaving the San Francisco Bay Area. 96,300 actual miles. It still wears an SF Firefighters decal on the windshield and a vintage Ellis Brooks license frame on the back.
