Up for auction is a 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle clone of Ricky Bobby's car from Talledaga Nights, which was itself a tribute to Smokey Yunick and his black & gold 66 Chevelle.
This 68 Chevelle is Gold and Black in color, and we do have the red stripe decals that can be installed but there were no plans to put door numbers on the car so I do not have those. The exterior is in very nice condition. There are some very minor paint defects on the fenders and hood which you can see in the photos. You can also see in the photos the great shine and reflection of the overall body, very nice! The plan was to change the hood out with the SS hood after upgrading to a 396 engine in the car, and the 396 engine we have is available to the winner if this car finds a buyer at this price. Once we install the 396, turbo 350 trans and SS hood we will relist with a higher price. We do have a shop we can refer who will put the big block and turbo trans in the car for you but those costs will be between you and them if you want to do that.
This car is currently a small block. It starts right up every time and drives great! It has am amazing deep throaty growl through true dual flowmaster 40 exhaust. The current driveline consists of the original small block chevy V8 and 2 speed powerglide. A very great looking, great driving classic!
Tires are brand new on prostar wheels. Most of the trim is all new or great condition original. This car has been stored indoors since it was built roughly 5 years ago and comes from a private collection. All of the glass is good and works perfect. This car has HID halo headlights. When built everything was replaced except the original driveline. The complete fuel system and brake system is new, tubular upper and lower front control arms, tubular rear control arms, all new soft parts and new stereo system, new exhaust. All together over $33,000 was spent to build this car. The car has about $15,000 in just new parts alone.
The interior is all brand new and in great shape. The gauges and lights all work. The factory dash has only dummy lights of course so there is a triple gauge set added under the dash. The car has a massive aluminum radiator with dual electric fans and keeps its cool even in these intense Texas summers. Steering the car is made pleasurable with a walnut steering wheel from Grant, and of course power steering. All new weather seals.
The car runs and drives amazing. I have driven it alot for testing and pleasure and it is alot of fun and gets alot of attention. I have driven it on extended trips of 150 miles or so without any issues. The car has no mechanical problems. As far as I can tell the miles on the engine are original.
It comes with an optima battery, electronic ignition, power steering, small block headers and power slotted & drilled disc brakes. Great look and feel. Also comes with collectible hot wheels car to match, a Ricky Bobby hat, remote for the stereo, Crystal Gale T-shirt and your very own Puma! Also comes with custom keychain so you dont forget which car the keys go to. This hotrod also comes with a battery tender to plug it into the wall for extended storage to preserve the battery. You couldnt build this car for less than $30k.

BAD:
1) There are a few very small paint defects in the front fenders and hood, difficult to notice (see photos).
2) the driver side vent window has slop in the end of the gear so it can move alittle and you have to help it catch the gear to crank open (see photos)
(someone was asking if there were rust holes at the bottoms of the fenders due to mud being splashed on the fenders in the photos. Absolutely not, it is only some dirt from driving that you see.)
Other than the above, the car drives well and gets alot of attention. Very fun car to take to the local meet or cruise around town. We have driven the car through town many times and never had any problems. Keep in mind it is 49 years old and not a new car, but it is in good condition considering its age. Very rust free body and chassis.
