327/300 HP, Red/black/white top, owned 22 years, two tops (hard top included)
1962 Chevrolet Corvette
Cosmetic condition:
•Since I’ve owned the car, it has not been hit or in any accidents. Not even a small one.
•Paint is a nice but older respray, but it is not a perfect show car. It presents very well. There are some smaller blemishes that can be remedied in a straightforward way. For example, the hood has some spots that are clean and glossy but not perfectly smooth (no breaks or cracks on the hood paint in these spots). There is a small crack behind the front driver’s wheel that has been repaired. As with most of these cars, the lid for the convertible top shows where the rubber from the soft and hard tops sits. The car had these defects when I purchased it 22 years ago and none of them has gotten worse. In summary, the car looks great, as you can see in the photos, and I get tons of compliments, but I want to be clear and up front.
•Interior was replaced with high-quality new carpets, door panels, and seat covers
•Soft top was replaced with high quality white top
•Very nice glass, including new date-coded windshield
Mechanical condition:
•Engine runs strong. Professionally rebuilt about 4,000 miles ago
•The frame looks great and there is no significant rust (see photo). I can’t guarantee that there is no shallow surface rust here and there but I really didn’t see any when inspecting it. The rear crossmember and suspension mounting points are good. It is a California car that lived in my garage for the past 22 years, and I don’t remember ever driving it in the rain. The car tracks straight.
•All springs and shocks, and many bushings replaced. There is a suspension squeak at one of the corners, but it is not too loud and does not impact the driving quality of the car
•Brakes work very well
•Minor oil leaks typical of an older car. It does not consume any noticeable amount of oil.
Replaced parts (partial list):
•Rebuilt engine
•New brake lines and master cylinder
•New fuel lines
•New Optima red-top battery
•Recent door felt (that guides windows)
•Recent tires (Coker radials, look good and drive far better than bias plies)
•Tach-drive distributor
•Driver side window regulator
•Springs, shocks, and many suspension bushings
•Seat covers, door panels, carpets
•Convertible top and frame
•T-4 headlights
•New Pioneer Bluetooth stereo
•Several new trim and small parts
The Hagerty valuation for a car of this condition with these options is $66,840 (Good/#3 condition 300 HP car $56,900, plus 10% for 4-speed, plus $4,250 for hard-top). Since the transmission isn’t numbers matching and the paint isn’t completely perfect. I’m willing to let it go for a discount to this value.

Additional: The expansion tank is numbers matching. The windshield is correctly date coded and new. Other components, like the generator, distributor, and starter, probably are not numbers matching.
