1973 Chevrolet Corvette number matching
1973 Chevrolet Corvette
Up for sale is my number matching 1973 Corvette that I have had for 12+ years.I bought the car before I retired, to work on during my retirement.I am offering it for sale as the car is almost done and I am looking for a new project.I originally bought it from a gentleman in Florida and had it shipped to So. Cal.Since purchasing the car I have had the original number matching 350 engine and 4 speed manual trans rebuilt and installed which now have almost 1000 miles on the engine and trans.
The engine has been dynoed and puts out 226hp.
I have also added a crossover pipe to the exhaust system, installed the spare tire and the carrier for it with a lock, new rear speakers, a new Holly 670cfm carb, hi-flow water pump, thermostat, and installed a 7 blade metal fan with a new fan clutch which has extended the fan blade further into the shroud.I have replaced rear brake calipers as well as the front passenger brake caliper and new front brake pads all around.
Soon after buying the car I spoke to the mechanic that had worked on the car in Florida and he told me that the gentleman who sold the car to me had some extra parts left at his ex-wife’s house.I paid him to crate the parts and arranged to have them shipped to me.The parts include and have been installed or replaced with newer parts
1.Original 350 number matching engine, I had rebuilt by engine re-builders in San Bernardino, CA. BMS Machine-Davie 909-799-7770.
2.The original 4 speed trans was rebuilt by Stick Shift Transmissions in San Bernardino-Russell 909-882-1548.
3.The original 4 speed shifting linkage, complete.
4.Original am/fm radio with heat sink and power transistors.(see below)
5.New original looking digital radio.(see below)
6.New original radio/instrument bezel to accommodate the new radio.
7.Spare tire and carrier-installed with lock
Parts I have bought and installed or had installed:
Parts that will be shipped with the car.
1. Factory am/fm radio and separate heat sink
2.2 different ac compressors. One I believe is the factory compressor.
3. T top storage bag
4. Several manuals to cover any work you might want to do.
Now for the things that don’t work on the car:
The windshield washer. I have new fan and wiper switches, just haven't put them in yet
Overall condition of the car: There are a few small/tiny stone chips. The paint is thin at the bottom inside of the front fender vents. The carpet and floor mats are in very good condition. The seats are new, door panels, other vinyl and plastic parts are also in very good condition. The paint is in excellent shape.I keep a coat of paste wax on the car at all times. The tires are in new condition, just over a year old.Brakes are in excellent condition. The engine, trans and rear end all have no problems. The engine also has a MDM electronic ignition and I installed a new hi voltage coil just this year. There is no rust on the car anywhere as far as I can tell or have seen. The alarm system for the hood and both doors works as does the power antenna.
I’m not looking forward to selling this car as I have enjoyed it these past 12 years more than I can tell you.It is a joy to drive as well as look at.Everywhere I go I always get complements on the car.But now it is time to sell and let another have as much fun with this car as I have.
