We have had dozens of Tri-Five Chevys come through our doors over the last 18 years, but when this incredible car rolled in, our jaws dropped to the floor! 'Red Hills Rods & Classics' is very proud to offer you this absolutely gorgeous 1955 Chevrolet Delray Resto-Mod Custom built by Duane Mayer of 'American Hot Rods'. Finished in two-tone Gloss Black/Matte Black wrapped around an original style blue/cream Delray interior, this car simply screams cool! Over $170,000 was spent to create this magnificent machine and when you see it in person you will know that not a single penny was wasted! With only 360 miles on the road since the completion of the build, this car shows 'AS NEW' in every way! All of the sheet metal is absolutely laser straight throughout w/ absolutely perfect fit & finish. All of the body panels & gaps are 100% precise. The gloss black paint has been polished to a mirror-finish that appears to be a mile deep, and the matte black paint is smooth and silky. The gloss black/matte black color combination is out of this world and looks perfect on this car! All of the chrome and stainless trim is in show quality condition throughout. All of the tinted glass is brand new and crystal clear w/ no scratches or blemishes anywhere. She sits on Boyd Coddington wheels (17" x 8" up front & 18" x 10" on the rear) wrapped w/ new Goodyear Eagle low-profile radials (245/40/ZR17 up front & 275/40/ZR18 on the rear). This '55 Chevy has an amazing stance, which is extremely important on these cars! You can walk around the car a hundred times and never find a bad angle. The undercarriage/chassis is beautifully detailed and was completely reworked w/ all new suspension featuring dropped tubular A-arms, leaf springs set-in, Bilstein shocks and 4-wheel disc brakes. When you open the driver's door you will find a gorgeous original-style blue & cream Delray interior featuring: original seats done by Pete Engel, original dash w/ perfect chrome insert, full set of Auto-Meter gauges, chrome Ididit tilt steering column, Budnik leather wrapped billet steering wheel, Vintage Air Conditioning & Heat, 12" Lokar shifter, and German square weave blue carpet. All of the gauges, lights, blinkers, etc. are in perfect working condition and the Vintage Air Conditioning blows nice & cold. This interior is absolutely gorgeous w/ great attention to detail and really needs to be seen in person to appreciate how beautiful it is. Pop open the hood and inside the beautifully detailed engine bay you will find a performance built 350ci Z-28 engine (producing 400hp) featuring: Hi-performance 'Camelback' heads, Cal Custom finned valve covers, chrome Edelbrock dual-carb intake manifold, (2) chrome Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetors, Tru Trac serpentine system, MSD ignition, custom built ceramic coated headers, heavy-duty custom built aluminum radiator w/ dual spal fans, and lots of chrome sprinkled throughout. This mean motor is linked to a 700 R4 overdrive automatic transmission, which feeds power to an asphalt shredding Currie 3.73 rear end. She fires up instantly settling into nice smooth idle and she runs, drives and performs beautifully in every way w/ loads of power & torque. The 700R4 overdrive transmission shifts tight & smooth through all four gears. The custom 3" stainless steel exhaust w/ Magnaflow mufflers sounds awesome w/ a deep rumble that tells you that she means business!
