1968 Chevrolet C10
Sometimes people just know how to build a custom pickup right. This 1968 Chevrolet C10 is a great example. There was a lot of thought that went into creating the right colors, a comfy A/C interior, and a total power package that includes a performance-built stroker V8. This is the kind of full custom creation that will always standout in all the best ways. The thoughtfulness of this build can be seen everywhere. It all starts with the paint. This might resemble Chevy's legendary Hugger Orange, but you'll never mistake it for that once the sunlight hits this pickup. Instead, during the thorough restoration an absolutely amazing shade of Sunset Pearl was applied. It's better than anything to come out of the '60s, because not even Hugger Orange has this kind of sparkle. Added to this is a custom set of ghost flames that run down both sides, and it's even on the bed cover. And speaking of the bed, the tonneau has a power lift that reveals beautiful oak panels. But the days of this one carrying heavy loads is long gone. Instead, that bed is there just to haul home the trophies. And you know this is a sure bet with all the custom details like the louvered hood, lowered stance, custom roll pan, and 17-inch Colorado Customs polished wheels. And while there will be plenty of fans who love the #3 tribute on the tailgate, our favorite custom detail has got to be the bow tie up front that reminds us this is an "Orange Scream." In fact, there's so much custom work to this cool pickup that we will never have enough space to list it all, but luckily, it helps that its cover story in Classic Trucks comes with the sale. The interior does a great job of continuing the exterior's orange theme. The same color runs across the dash, and it's the base for the doors. But then a tan tweed takes over to make sure that this wild custom also feels comfortable. The bench seat can easily fit three people, but there is an individual arm rest to remind you that the driver is king. You also get other great convenient features like power windows, an AM/FM/CD stereo in the custom headliner, a cup holder, and ice-cold air conditioning. But the real treats begin when you grab the Lokar shifter in your right hand and the Billet Specialties wheel with your left. Beyond that is a machine aluminum panel filled with crisp AutoMeter gauges. All of these are big hints at something special under the hood even before you twist the key and hear it roar. The whole engine bay matches the exterior orange right down to the custom covers on the engine... and yes, even the cool flames return, too. Combined with a heavy investment in polished components, this makes for a complete custom build that you'll love to show off. Best of all, in-between those smooth orange fender walls is a performance-built 383 cubic-inch stroker V8. Constructed by Britco Racing Engines, this serious powerhouse has been fortified with a Clay Smith roller cam, Crane roller lifters, Isky Racing springs, SCAT crank and rods, Probe pistons, Edelbrock Victor Jr intake manifold, and a Demon 650 CFM four-barrel carburetor. Plus, the Patriot headers add even more power as they contribute to the thunderous sound of the Flowmaster dual exhaust. Making the most out of this monster motor is a stout 700R4 transmission. While this unit provides great overdrive comfort, it's custom 2500 RPM stall makes sure you also stay in the optimal powerband when it's time to go fast. This connects to a 10-bolt Positraction rear end. And the final piece to ensure that the rubber meets the road properly is four-point rear suspension with QA1 adjustable coilovers. All these great features, plus power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, and BF Goodrich gForce tires gives you a truly superior handling power pickup. The sale come complete with a restoration photo book, so you can take others on this journey of a very cool custom creation. You're looking at a unique and vintage head-turner, with excellent driving capabilities. And it can all be yours if you call today!
