Description:
1965 Chevrolet El Camino
UP FOR SALE IS AN ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA BLACK PLATE 1965 CHEVY EL CAMINO SURVIVOR. I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM THE ESTATE OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER TO BUILD A CAR BUT DO NOT HAVE THE HEART TO CUT UP AN ORIGINAL SURVIVOR CAR. THIS VEHICLE WAS SOLD NEW AT ST. LAURENT CHEVROLET IN SONOMA, CALIFORNIA AND STILL WEARS THE ORIGINAL TAGS THAT WERE INSTALLED THE DAY IT WAS SOLD NEW-SEPTEMBER 30, 1965. THE VEHICLE WAS ON A FARM SINCE NEW AND I WAS TOLD IT HAS 24,483 ORIGINAL MILES. THERE IS WAY TOO MUCH ORIGINAL PARTS ON THIS VEHICLE FOR IT TO HAVE THE OVER A CENTURY MILEAGE ON IT BUT CANNOT GAURANTEE IT. WHEN I PURCHASED IT I PULLED THE ORIGINAL CARPET WHICH WAS DRYROT AND THE FLOORS WERE ALL ORIGINAL WITH THE FACTORY PRIMER. WE HAVE PUT DYNAMAT ON THE FLOORS TO ADD SOME INSULATION BUT IT IS EASILY REMOVED IF YOU WOULD WANT TO. THE BENCH SEAT IS ORIGINAL ALONG WITH THE DOOR PANELS AND HEADLINER. THE DASH PAD IS CRACKED BUT OVERALL DECENT. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS SANDED AND PAINTED BUT IS NOT CRACKED. ORIGINAL PLAN WAS TO SWAP OUT THE WHITE INTERIOR FOR BLACK. THE ONLY OTHER MODIFICATIONS I HAVE DONE SINCE I PURCHASED IT WERE REPLACE THE ORIGINAL WHEELS AND TIRES WHICH HAVE 0 MILES ON THEM 15x7 AMERICAN RACING TORQUE THRUST D AND WE REMOVED THE BEDRAIL SPEARS AND WELDED THE HOLES UP ALONG WITH A HOLE IN THE BACK OF THE CAB WHERE THERE WAS A CB ANTENNA. THE BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT FOR A 52 YEAR OLD VEHICLE BUT DOES HAVE DOOR DINGS ALONG THE BODY AND THE ONLY FILLER I CAN FIND IS ON THE TAILGATE AT THE BOTTOM WHERE A TRAILER MUST HAVE DENTED IT AT ONE TIME. FLOORS AND BED ARE SOLID RUST FREE. NO RUST ON THE DOOR OR BOTTOMS OF THEM. ONLY SPOT I' VE FOUND IS ONE NICKLE SIZE HOLE ON THE HOOD ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND THE BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE HAS MINOR SURFACE RUST ON BARE METAL PARTS. THE VEHICLE APPEARS TO WEAR MOST OF ITS ORIGINAL PAINT BUT HAS HAD PAINTWORK DONE TO IT AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER. THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS IN THE CONDITION I GOT IT IN. SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE THE OWNERS FAMILY HAD IT CLEANED AND NEW GASKETS INSTALLED. IT STARTS AND RUNS NICELY. TRANSMISSION IS A TWO SPEED POWERGLIDE AND IT SHIFTS FINE. ORIGINAL AIRCLEANER ASSEMBLY ALONG WITH THE ORIGINAL WASHER BOTTLE ARE STILL UNDERHOOD. VEHICLE ALSO HAS ORIGNAL T3 HEADLIGHTS INSTALLED BUT TWO ARE BURNT OUT. I DID NOT REPLACE SINCE THEY ARE ORIGINAL TO THE CAR. I HAVE ALL PAPERWORK THAT WAS INCLUDED WITH THE VEHICLE FROM THE OWNERS FAMILY WHICH INCLUDES OWNERS MANUAL, WARRANTY BOOK WITH PROTECT-O-PLATE AND VARIOUS OLD REGISTRATIONS AND WARRANTY PAPERWORK. THE CAR WAS TITLED IN TEXAS UNDER THE ESTATE OF THE OWNER AND IS A CLEAR OPEN TITLE. VEHICLE IS BEING SOLD AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY OR GAURANTEES. POTENTIAL PURCHASERS CAN SET UP AN APPOINTMENT TO VIEW VEHICLE OR HAVE IT INSPECTED. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING. I WILL HELP WITH MAKING THE VEHICLE AVAILABLE FOR PICK UP AT MY SHOP IN KEMAH, TEXAS. A NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT OF $1,000 IS DUE WITHIN 48 HOURS FROM THE END OF THE LISTING IN PERSON AND PAYMENT MUST BE MADE BY EITHER CASH OR CERTIFIED FUNDS WITIHN SEVEN DAYS OF THE END OF THE LISTING OR OTHER ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO FINALIZING THE SALE.
