1978 Chevy El Camino - It's Not Just A Car, It's A Life Style
1978 Chevrolet El Camino
Oh my gosh, what I would have given to be driving this thing back in the day! This is one sweet ride.
I am selling this for a friend, but if I had the money this would be sitting in my garage. Since they first came out, the Chevrolet El Camino has been turning heads. I personally believe that the 1959 El Camino is in my top 10 all time favorite automobiles.
Not everyone can have a '59, but having a dependable, running, driving El Camino is within reach by placing a bid on this car. It is about as "ready to go" of a car from this era as I have ever seen. Almost everything on this 1982 El Camino has been redone. The car has been garage kept. It was completely worked over in the 90's and has very little drive time since. Here's what you are getting with this car. When it was redone it had a new engine put in. The transmission was flushed and serviced. The air conditioning system was serviced and the compressor replaced. It got all new belts and hoses. The radiator was re-cored. Bearings were repacked, carburetor adjusted, and it even got the speedometer cable lubed.
This car looks good. The paint is nice, the bed cover is nice and the interior is nice as is the vinyl top. The tires look barely used. The only issue that I noted was the hose for the air breather needs fixed. It is not a 100 point show car, but is an outstanding daily driver. If you wanted to bring this up to concourse ready it would not take much.
As for me I would love to see a car like this get pimped out. I know a lot of cars from this era are getting ultra customized. I can see this car with a sizzling bright paint job and a set of low profile tires sitting around huge tricked out rims. If you don't know what I'm talking about then go google "Donk" and be enlightened. However, for the purist out there that thinks all cars should be all stock always, this car is ready to drive today.
The best part about this car is that it is ready to go. It is ready to drive on day one of you taking ownership.
In the words of Kahn Souphanousinphone"A car is a car but an El Camino is a way of life"
