1972 Chevrolet Camaro RS| Auction Doctors 1972 Chevrolet Camaro RS *click on any photo to view a larger image*Here we have a 1972 Chevrolet Camaro RS in Flame Orange Metallic. 1972 was one of the lowest Camaro production years ever due to a strike at the plant where the cars were being produced and declining sales. The RS package included numerous cosmetic changes including a distinctive front-end look that most noticeably featured two front bumpers on the left and right of the nose of the car instead of the normal full-width bumper. This car up for auction features a 350cu V8 small block, fitted with a 4bbl, Edelbrock intake, 1.6" exhaust valves pocket ported with 1.6 ratio rockers, mild camshaft, forged pistons -- all breathing through Heddman Headers coupled to a dual exhaust with turbo-mufflers. Handling the gear changes is a 4-speed automatic 700R4 overdrive transmission. To utilize the overdrive gearing a 3.42:1 10 bolt positraction rear axle was installed. Pontiac WS6 (handling package) swaybars fitted front and rear. The alloy wheels are from a third generation Camaro RS. The original front seats were replaced with Recaro seats in the mid nineties for a huge comfort upgrade. In 2010 they were reupholstered and the rear seats upholstered to match. The car is equipped with factory air conditioning. Also this car has the upgraded "custom interior" option which you can see by the door panels, the console shifter surround and the instrument cluster background. The car was purchased from the 2nd brother in March of 1990 with approximately 80,000 miles on the odometer. During the last 27 years the odometer has gone past 100,000 miles twice, however, along the way the engine was rebuilt in 1992 at 120,000 miles. There is the area of the lower right front fender where there is rust, this has been present for most of the time owner has had the car, and it hasn't changed significantly. The trunk floor (when owner last inspected it many years ago) had some flaking rust on the surface. About 10 years ago owner had the gas tank out and the underside of the trunk floor looked good. In the last 15 years the car has been parked in a garage that sees moderate temperature fluctuations in one of the driest climates in the USA. To the best of owner's knowledge it has been a California car since purchased new, and hasn't seen rain in well over 10 years. Part of the headliner is starting to droop, however owner is including in the sale a brand new in the box, matched OEM material headliner to the winner of this car. Aftermarket JVC radio installed. Original clock is not working. This will be a Private Party sale. ***************************** Please view the YouTube videos of this car at the bottom of the photos to the right. **************************** We can pick up buyers from the airport that need to fly in to pick up the car.
