1949 Chevrolet Fleetline, Barn Find with History
1949 Chevrolet Other
This is a true barn find 1949 Chevrolet Fleetline with some local history in Navarro County. I purchased this from a friends dad where it has been since 1952 in Kerens Texas. It has been in their barn on their farm since the 70s. It was parked because of a rear broke leaf spring on the driver's side. The vehicle was originally purchased from Bruner Chevrolet right in Kerens Texas! This Chevy has spent it's life in Kerens. The old car is very solid throughout! The exterior is very straight except for the right rear fender. Has the visor and fender skirts!! The rest of the fleetline is nicely aged with only surface rust. The interior is all there but of course aged.......which I like the way it is! I would fix this car and drive as is if it was me but I gained another project and have to sell it. the drivers floor has minimal rust and the front passenger has some rust through. The rear floors are solid along with the trunk floor. The car rolls and steers fine. The 216 engine has some stuck valves but is complete and turns over. All the original braided wiring is surprisingly good. I hooked up a battery and lights and horn worked along with dash lights. The old dash radio displaylight even came on! I put a couple old tires on for rolling it. This is a rare complete original barn fleetline with history and a clear title in my name. NOT a bonded title! I also have a set of restored 1949 Chevrolet Texaslicense plates that I just purchased. I found some very cool old stuff inside this vehicle when I pulled it from the barn. Ill show picts of the things I found! Old fishing lures in original boxesall steelfishing pole and reel old camping stove old lantern old oil cans and tools (Does not go with sale). This fleetline came off the road in the 70sand was parked in the barn.
I took the hood off and radiator andstarted unbolting the engine/tranny so I couldreplace the engine with a 235.
This is as is where is with no warranty. If you buy it you willbe lucky to have it.Hard tofind barn fresh vehicles with history behind them are getting hard to find. Look up Bruner Chevrolet they still have dealerships in business.
Will have to be winched on to a trailer. Rolls and steers fine.
Clear Texas title in my name. All data plates on vehicle still in place.
