Description:

1991 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1

Up for your consideration is my 1991 ZR-1 with 29K original miles finished in the rare Turquoise Metallic color with black leather interior. This color was only available in 1990 and '91 with a total of 113 ZR-1's painted in that color. I have owned this car since 2007 with the intention of keeping it forever, but I had the opportunity to order a new COPO Camaro from GM in February, so the ZR-1 unfortunately has to go. I will describe below as accurately as I can the exterior, interior, engine and documentation.
EXTERIOR
The Turquoise Metallic has a beautiful shine and I have only used Meguiars products on it the entire time I have had the car, as had the previous owner. The car has not been wet since the day I purchased it when it got home and did a light wash in 2007. The door jambs and wheel liners are extremely clean. This car has never spent any significant amount of time outside other than being driven as all of the rubber seals are soft and nothing is faded. The headlights are the original Wagner halogens and the headlight rotation gears have been replaced. The windshield has a bit of delamination on the sides,as can bee seen in the photo but still less than what I would consider "average" for these cars. The wheels are very nice genuine GM 5 spokes, the same as found on '94 and '95 ZR-1's with Goodyear Eagle F1's all around. I also have the factory "sawblade wheels" that came on the car with Goodyear Gatorbacks still on them if NCRS correct is what you are looking for that will go with the car. I also have a thick fitted indoor cotton cover that will be included.
INTERIOR
The interior shows very little wear as can be seen by looking at the photos of the driver and passenger seat bolsters and carpet on the door sill. There are no cracks on the dash or console and the Service Parts Identification Decal is present under the console door. The radio and Bose speakers work as they should and the A/C blows cold. All options such as power mirrors, window, seats, locks and hatch release and all switches work as they should to the best of my knowledge. I replaced the retractable radio antenna with a new GM unit as the original was partially stripped out when I purchased the car.
ENGINE
The engine is of course the original LT-5 with all correct date coded hoses and decals. The paint on the engine is probably an 8.5 out of 10 as there are no major stains or fading. The factory "LT-5" plug wires are still on the car. Of particular interest to knowledgeable ZR-1 buyers is that the injectors have been replaced with new Delphi units and I replaced the coil packs under the plenum at the same time. While I had the plenum off, I checked all of the vacuum hoses for the secondaries and all were soft and still serviceable. I have an open air box with a K&N Filter on the car as well as a Hurst short throw shifter (the stock shifter and factory air box will go with the car if I can find them). The only other item that is not stock is the full stainless steel B&B Tri-flow exhaust. It has a nice classy tone very much unlike some of the raspy, droning exhaust some other manufacturers have. All of the factory exhaust components go with the car if the new buyer so chooses.
DOCUMENTATION
I have extensive documentation for this car including a 1991 ZR-1 owners kit (aka pizza box) with key chain, copies of the original window sticker, build sheet, VIN breakdown sheet, ZR-1 specific dealer brochure still in envelope, receipts from maintenance, trophies from car show (if you want them) and a copy of the title from previous owner.
This car is very clean and is the perfect balance of being nice enough to show anywhere and drive but not a full on "garage queen" that you are afraid to leave home in because it might get some dust on it. I have described the car to the best of my knowledge and ability, but understand it is still a 26 year old car and is sold as is. As I said earlier, I bought this car with the intention of handing it down to my son one day and it has been treated to a life as such, always inside my shop with an interior car cover on it. But when I got the email from GM and a once in a lifetime opportunity to buy a COPO Camaro, I knew I couldn't keep both. This is 7 day auction with a very reasonable reserve with the rarity and condition of this car and everything that goes along with it. The CARFAX is clean and I have a clean Georgia title IN HAND. There will be a $500 deposit due within 2 days of auctions end and full payment must be made before car is picked up. A bank wire transfer is preferred. I will accept a certified bank check, but it must clear my bank before the car is released which could take a few days. I will be glad to work with you on a reasonable time frame for storage while shipping details are worked out on your end. Check out my feedback and bid with confidence!
