Description:

1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 210 Handy Man Wagon

1955 Chevy 210 Handy Man Wagon. Runs and drives. Body is close to being rust free, but floorboards have had rust and have been patched as you can see by the pictures. I thought about sanding the car and painting with semi-gloss black paint, but then decided that since the body is so nice and straight, and virtually rust free, that I would show off the body's honesty. I bought the car from a friend of mine that used to own it roughly 20 years ago. He sold it to his brother in Wyoming and his brother pulled the chrome off and started to restore it and that is as far as he got. My friend recently purchased the car back about a year ago. He is an old hot-rodder that had full intentions of fixing it up, but realized he did not have the capability to do so. I purchased the car from him with intentions of someday fixing it up, but I have some real estate developments I need to finish first, so I decided to go ahead and sell it. The engine is a 350 and is mildly modified. It has a high lift cam that is not too radical, it really sounds good. The engine was supposedly rebuilt awhile back, but hardly any miles have been put on it. I do not have proof or receipts, but it appears to be true and it runs like it has been rebuilt. It has brand new gas tank and gas lines. I am pretty sure that most of the chrome is there, except for one small trim piece on the right quarter. (I don't want to guarantee that, please study the pictures.) The bumpers need to be re-chromed. Most of the trim is good except for a few dings and scratches. If you noticed, the rear seat is missing, but it will be delivered to me on April 1st. Notice on the firewall behind the distributor, it has been cut out and another piece of firewall has been added back in, that is because at one time it had a big block and the distributor would not fit. The gauges and heater controls and clock do not work at this time because I just put them back to take pictures and did not hook up any wires or anything. When I drove it, I noticed that the front end is remarkably tight, and the transmission shifts good and the clutch is good. Mechanically I don't think the buyer will have to do much work. The wheels and tires are 20 inch Z-28 Take offs. The front tires rub a little bit when turning sharp. I put 2 inch spacers on the front hubs, and probably should gone with an inch and a half. Overall, this is a easy project with a very nice body that you can drive right now if you want, with the exception of some wiring and reinstalling tail lights and bumpers depending on the laws of the state. I have supplied 100 pictures of this vehicle and as you can see, there is nothing left to the imagination. You can text me or call me Monday - Saturday, 9AM to 10PM CST. and Sunday afternoons. Thank you and happy bidding!
