This is for a very Straight,Very solid and all original Unmolested 1978 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Reg Cab long bed with only 96667 original miles.This truck has been in the same family since new and is all original and very well preserved.It runs and drives like new.It is VERY tight and rattle free.There is some very minor rust but nothing is hiding.The truck still wears it's original special ordered 2 tone paint.See option sticker photo.The truck is very straight and Rock solid.The doors open and shut like new.All the glass is good.The interior is all original right down to the carpet,which is still good.The door panels and dash is in very good shape with only some very small cracks in the center speaker location only.The seat is original and still sits great,the cover will need redoing.The headliner is still here but has come loose and will need to be re-glued.
The A/C is still blows Ice cold and is still running the old r12.It has dual fuel tanks and both work fine.The truck still has all of its original gauges,which all work.The dash lights also all work and are very clear and bright.The original am/fm radio and speaker still plays and sounds good.Someone had a aftermarket radio in the dash and had done some trimming as you can see in the photos but did NOT completely butcher the dash so I was able to reinstall the original radio back in there.No wiring was cut or altered.The power windows work smooth and FAST.I replaced the the main window channel runners with new,so the truck has NO wind noise.I also replaced the hood ornament with a brand new NOS one.The truck did NOT come with tilt wheel but I bought a restore correct tilt column for it.It will come with the truck.The truck has New rear tires and very good 80% front ones.They are 16" with the original caps and beauty rings.The only rust on the body is in the passenger side fender at the front lower edge and the rear lower edge.There is also a couple of small spots starting at the rear of the bed by the tailgate.See all photos.The bed is unreal straight and solid.The tail gate is almost perfect with No rust in it.The rockers are very good and there is NO rust in the cab corners.The doors are rust free also.There is a very small amount of rust at the front edge of the hood,but it is not bad.Hood is great and opens and shuts easily.There is a couple of small holes on the drivers side rear quarter down low,also not bad,just want mention everything.I sprayed some cheap primer on the rust areas so they can be better seen.Some other spots on the truck were touched up with primer when I got it,but they are not rusted thru.Again Paint is all original and There is NO bondo on this truck.What you see is what you get.It is a honest old truck.I replaced the drivers side rear upper chrome trim with a new piece.I also have a 80% extra complete set of used trim that will come with the truck.The 454 motor cranks right up the choke works fine and runs smooth, after a few minutes it settles in to a nice idle at about 600 rpms.It has no exhaust leaks and the pipes sound good but the duel system is old and has a bandage patch around one pipe by the glass pack mufflers.There are no Big block starter issues,it cranks up smoothly and quietly even after hot.It does have a little typical big block top end noise when you first start it but it goes away as it warms up.It has great oil pressure and even after fully warmed up it never drops below 30 psi.The motor is clean and dry.The temp runs at the first notch and it charges good with 13+ volts.The turbo 400 trans shift perfectly and the rear end is smooth and quiet also.Honestly,This is one of the best driving old square chevy's I have ever owned and driven.I would not be afraid to drive it anywhere but keep in mind it is a 39 year old truck.I can help with arranging shipping if you like.This truck will not disappoint you.And as you know,They are only original Once.
