1957 Chevrolet Bel Air V-* 2-Dr Hardtop Painted Uphostered Driver Patina Restore
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Bel Air Sports Coupe
Sorry we had to stop listing and re-list as thebay does not recognize 'Chevy' as a vehicle only 'Chevrolet' so we were not getting exposure with other 1957 vehicles... We were listed with 'parts' previously! That mistake is going to cost us $125 'end early fee'.
This 1957 Chevy 2-door HT is a true VC-code V-8 W/ Stick Shift Belair Janesville, WI. built car but now has a 1969 Impala (also Janesville sourced) 350CI 255HP HV stamp coded engine and 350TH transmission. The carb and intake are not correct but i am including in the sale a period correct cast iron intake manifold for use with most any Q-jet carb. A compression test on engine shows all cylinders 135-145 range, altitude here abou 3200'. Engine starts easy except when reel cold, and runs good no smoke and sounds strong.
Most all else on car is fairly original. New fuel tank and pickup, newer carpet and upholstery, older re-paint, All around tinted glass with 5 of them original E-Z eye. Definitely not a perfect show car and in need of new: tires, shocks, brakes, seals, ect as has been sitting in storage for over 25 years. I also am including the following new parts to go with the sale: (4) new in box Monroe Shocks, (4) sets NIB brake shoes, (2) NIB rear wheel cylinders and (2) NIB front wheel cylinder kits, (1) NIB master cylinder kit, (4) NIB rear lower shackle rubber bushings, rear window gasket and clips.
GOOD and BAD:
Tires hold air just fine but are old and cracked and are not safe for travel. Brakes are working but pull to the side when engaged and are not safe for travel, parking brake works somewhat but is not safe on any slope, new brake parts included with sale. Steering and seems fine but needs to be professionally inspected before any road trip. Suspension is in need of 4 new shocks, included. Rear shackles are installed incorrectly, they need to bere-positionedwith curve proper so as to clear frame brackets.Lower rear rubber leaf spring bushings need replacement at the same time, included with sale. WARNING: Apparently no neutral SafetySwitch on Hurst shifter!
Body seems good when checked under paint for excess filler, using the small magnet test. Trunk floor fairly good as is, interior floor under carpet has had several metal repairs not show-car worthy butstructurallysound and solid. All windows roll up and down but the 1/4 windows roll kinda stiff. Doors open and close Ok no sag, hood and trunk lid open and close reel good. Rear window stainless trim don't seat fully as the rubber is getting hard, new gasket and clips included with purchase. Replacementupholsteryover old originalupholstery. $500 non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours or will re-list. Clear title in my name matches proper VIN on vehicle. Title signed and delivered after full payment in my bank. 14 days to pay and pick-up vehicle please. Ask questions and request more pixs before bidding, not after buying.Car sold as is where is.
