1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

AT FIRST GLANCE this Chevelle's Super Slick body indicates the type of build quality that flows throughout the entire build . This project started with a very nice original complete 1967 Chevelle SS Big Block 396 . The body was removed from the original frame and then married to a specially ordered Art Morrison Full Chassis with 2'' x 3'' Square tube Frame rails . A full Race Cage was added along with a 4 Link Rear Suspension to keep the 9'' Ford Locker Firmly planted . The rear has been narrowed and houses 3.79 Gears and 35 Spline Axles . The body was dropped approximately 3'' over the frame for that Ultra Low & Aggerssive Stance . Full Custom Sheetmetal Floor Pan, Firewal, Tunne, and 48'' Wheel Tubs were added . The trunk provides enough space for a 22 Gallon Polished Stainless Steel Fuel Cell and twin Billet Aluminum Battery Hold Downs for both Optima Red Top Batteries . On the business end of this Chevelle is a 540 cubic inch Merlin Pro DRC Big Block with 4.50'' bore and Stroked to 4.25'' . A set of Dart 360 Aluminum ( O-Ringed ) Heads with reciever grooves cut in for ultra seal . the heads have Titanium 2.35'' Intake and 1.90 Stainless Valves . The intake runners on the heads have been opened up to flow 410 CFM and Extensive Machine work was done to match the Custom Littlefield Blower Intake . Bowls were Flowed and exhaust ports Opened up . K Motion Valve Springs @ 1.625 w/10lb Retainers
Engine internals consist of J E Blower Application Pistons ( 8 to 1 compression , with Childs and Alberts Bearings and Zero Gap Ring, connected to 6.385 Oliver Rod, all set in motion by a Callies Pro Magnum 4.25 Billet Blower Crankshaft . An UltraDyne 720/720 Lift Cam with Magnum Push Rod set and Crane Ultra Pro Magnum Roller Rockers @ 1.7 - 7/16 '' Roller Lifter, Valve Lash Cap, 7/16 '' Rocker Arm Studs & 7/16 '' Push Rod Guide Plates .The Stud Girdle Keeps all in place and breathing Freely while the Copper Head Gaskets keep the seal . Down Below is a 10 quart DRC Billet Aluminum Oil Pa, Oil Pum, and Pick up . Magna Fuel Pump with 4 port Magna Fuel Regulator are Feeding the twin 975 CFM Deamon Blower Carburetors which supply the Custom Littlefield 871 High Helix Supercharger . Everything is kept within 180 degrees by a Griffin Radiator w/ Twin Electric Fans with Relays . There are seperate Coolers w/ Electric Fans for Oil Cooling and Transmission cooling duties .Spent Gasses exit through Custom Stainless Steel Headers w/ 2 1/2'' main tubes and 5'' Collectors all Silver Ceramic Coated . Front and Rear Motor Plates Keep the Beast anchored in place . All the power is sent through a Power Glide ( w/ Safety Cas, SFI Approve, 1.62 Straight Cut Vasco Gear ) automatic Transmission with 1.66 low gear ( Continental 3800 Stal, 10'' Converter ) to a Chrome Molly Drive Shaft and on to the rear differential with 3.89 gear . And Ye, all this means you can cruise down the highway at 55 MPH with the air Condition blowing and still blow the tires loose with just a flick of the right pedal .
