Canadian Built 2-Door Sport Coupe. Astro Blue White Stripes. Possible SS Clone??
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Black Bench Seat
This is not my car but I am selling for a friend who does not do eBay. Let me say that I understand that there is a lot of information in my ad. I also understand that this may be boring to the person who is just looking and not buying. However, for the person who is looking to buy and spend their hard earned money, I feel that there is never too much information.
As to myself, I am a (66) year old kid that loves muscle cars. For my work, I am retired from managing a Correctional Facility here in Maine and had worked for the Maine Department of Corrections for (40) years. I am also a respected member of my community. I mention this only because of the value of this car and so that prospective buyers will have some idea as to who they are dealing with. Also, please check out my eBay feedback which is 100% with (1,154) transactions. Many of those have been muscle cars which I have sold to individuals all over the country as well as Canada, England, France, Switzerland and Australia.
1970 was one of the greatest years in the American muscle car era. An abundance of style & attitude.
Although it existed a mere 13 years before it morphed officially into the Malibu, Chevrolet’s Chevelle remains a beloved muscle car. Introduced in 1964, the mid-sized car was produced to compete with the Ford Fairlane. The Chevelle SS was the carmaker’s high performance version of the Chevelle. Featuring its own line of performance products and engines, the Chevelle SS boasted the most powerfully rated engine of all the muscle cars.
1970 saw the introduction of the most powerful Chevelle SS of all time. Responding to the lifting of GM's ban on engines larger than 400 cid in midsize cars, Chevrolet responded by dropping in a new 454 cubic engine into its Chevelle SS. The top engine choice was the LS6 version with 450bhp. The standard Chevelle SS 396 continued with its 402 cid engines, although the 325bhp was dropped and the 350bhp version was now standard. Optional on both the 396 and 454 was a new cowl-induction hood, which had a rear facing flapper near the base of the windshield to feed air into the engine. The styling was new with a "vee" front end, functional hood pins, and five-spoke Rallye wheels. This was truly the pinnacle of the Chevelle SS performance.
1970 Oshawa Canada built L6 Chevelle Malibu Sport Coupe (13537). Has a strong running 350ci V8 in it now. Astro Blue, black bench seat interior column shift automatic. 2-door hardtop. Has an original 1970 steel Cowl hood installed. (Non-cowl induction.) Astro Blue with white stripes on hood and trunk lid. New master cylinder. Installed torque thrust rims and very nice tires. Starts, runs and drives great. Everything works; i.e. Headlights (high and low beams), tail lights, blinkers, back up lights, horn, heater, wipers, radio, speedometer, fuel gauge, etc. Driver quality condition.
Arguably the most desirous year for Chevelles ever produced with an outstanding color combo of Astro Blue with White stripes. Throw in the very low reserve and this makes this car better than the flip side of your pillow and a wicked good deal.
The muscle car that everyone talks about, you have to take a look at this wicked nice and authentic ’70 Chevelle Sport Coupe that wraps “Muscle Car Styling” around “Bow Tie” horsepower and is the stuff legends are made of. “THIS IS” the top muscle car that every gear head wants to park in their driveway.
Need I say more? I think not!!!
