************REVISED DESCRIPTION..................This vehicle is an Impala, not Belair as was originally described......................................Up for bid is a true "barn find" early muscle car. 1961 Chevrolet Impala 2 door hardtop (bubble top). This car is mostly original and unmolested. That by itself is reason enough to get your attention, but here is the really cool part about this car......It still has the original 348 still in it, and it still runs, or at least it was running about 3-4 years ago before my father stopped starting and running it periodically due to health reasons. It has a 3 speed on the column. This car does need some sheet metal work ......the bottom of the quarters and the floor boards are rusted. It's pretty much all there, and more importantly, it looks to be all original too making it a good candidate for concourse restoration. My father bought this car from the second owner about 10 years ago, and the second owner bought the car from his cousin who bought it brand new. After the second owner replaced it as his daily driver, he stored it in a barn and started it up every now and then. The car was a local car from here in southern Illinois. My father bought it with the intention of restoring it back to original, or possibly building a resto rod, but unfortunately health issues has prohibited him from starting another project.
