1968 Chevy Nova Yenko TURBO LS1
1968 Chevrolet Nova coupe
1968 Chevy Nova Yenko Tribute with turbo 5.3 ls conversion. I did a complete nut and bolt restoration back in 2008. Paint and body are straight as an arrow and smooth as glass. Car has all DuPont basecoat clear coat on it and has a "show car" fit and finish as well. Body’s Hugger Orange and all the trim on the car is Gloss Black. The car always brings a crowd and gets ton of attention, has been in multiple magazines. The exhaust dumps out the right fender in front of the tire, NO its not obnoxiously loud, its actually quieter there thanwhen it dumped under the car!All the side marker lights and wipershave been eliminated. Top half of the firewall was also smoothed for supper clean look. All the suspension, sub frame, rear-end, and wheel wells are all painted gloss black and look as good as the exterior dose. The interior was also all restored and had new seat covers, insulated floor and carpet, new door panels, and much more! Now on to the good stuff! The engine isthe 5.3LS based 325ci. motor has custom Tick Performance turbo spec cam (has nasty lope for a turbo car), Brian Tooley valve springs and pushrods, Edelbrock intake, FAST 4150 style throttle body, ARP head bolts and rod bolts, andgood head gaskets. Has stock bottom end and heads but was all gone thru at time of build. Trans is a TH400 reverse manual valve body with allgood internals, B&M Quarter Stick shifterand Ultra bell bellhousing that was all new at the end of last year. Rear-end is a full Strange 9" unit with 35 spline axles, spool, center section, yoke and 3:00 gears and Cal-Tracs. Car has matching Strange disc brakes on all four corners with their manual master cylinder as well. Brakes and complete rear-end where all new 2 years ago.Fuel system is stock sumped tank with twin inline 255 pumps, return style regulator and 60lb injectors. The computer and electronics are all GM based and Speartech made the custom standalone harness. All the electronics are mounted in glove box area out of sight. The car has a custom one off, VERY HIGH QUALITY, all HEAVY GUAGE stainless steelturbo hotsidekit that was built by the one and only Turbo Joe Fabrications. The quality, fit and finish, looks and function are all TOP NOTCH! Car is running a 76mm turbo and 44mm wastegate with air to air intercooler and AEM tru-boost boost controllerthat make crazy power with little to no lag. Car on 13lbs of boostwith pump gas makes 500hp and 650tq to the rear tires all tuned by Speedinc. The car has been a best of 10.003 @135mph in the qtr on drag radialsdriving to and from the track without EVER having to open the hood or pick up a wrench. It has very mild manners and is SUPER RELIABLE. I have run power tour with it multiple time, cruises down the highway 70mph @ 2600rpm getting 18mpg! I built the car to be the reliable, fast as hell, look like a show car, and do the best burnout you have ever seen (i don't believe in needing the brakes toburn rubber),all of which it does VERY well. This is truly a very unique car that get tons of attention no matter where you gothat performs and lookslike none other. I built the car with intentions of keeping it forever so no corners where cut anywhere! Its super fun to drive and i would feel comfortable sending my wife and kids down the track in it. I'm sure I'm forgetting a ton buti have walk around video and tons of pics i can send to anyone if needed, or your more than welcome to come take a peak and ride in personas long as the weathers still good.
