1940 Chevrolet Other Pickups

1940 Chevrolet KD-series 3/4-Ton Stakebed Pickup. Satin Green with Satin Black fenders/Black upholstery/Red wheels. This pre-war Chevy was built at the Janesville, Wisconsin GM plant and then went to work on a Montana ranch were it was found in recent years. 85% complete frame-uprestoration. Needs finishing (the truck is now a mostly-completed roller as shown in the first few pictures. The bare-frame pictures are of the earlier restoration process). Completely disassembled. Frame-up restoration with the frame blasted and painted. The cab was chemically dipped, painted, and is rust-free and all-steel. The flat bed and stakes were replaced with new wood. All supporting bed frame timber replaced to factory correct specifications. The original 216.5cid engine was totally rebuilt with new aluminum pistons. The original babbitt bearings were replaced with new-style insert bearings. New clutch and pressure plate. The generator, starter, and electrics were all rebuilt to 12-volt specs. Carb, radiator, lever shocks, exhaust, brakes, and brakes lines all rebuilt or replaced. Original "artillery" style wheels with spare were repainted red. New upholstery and paint in the factory-correct interior. Buick heater. Many rare trim pieces including the grille. Items needed for completion include a wiring harness, running boards, windshield, front bumper, and some final fitments. The truck is now a roller...and all loose parts will be packaged for shipment to the new owner. Great opportunity for a light completion and then you can take the credit for the restoration at the next big truck show!
