Description:

1965 Chevrolet Corvette

In my humble opinion, there is no classic Corvette more desirable than the first-year big-block 1965 L78 396/425hp Corvette. Not only was it the first year of the big-block, but it was also the only year that a 396 ci motor was available. Gorgeous styling & fantastic performance all wrapped up in one.

‘Red Hills Rods & Classics’ is proud to offer you this gorgeous frame-off restored 1965 Chevrolet Corvette 396/425 Convertible, which left the factory in arguably the most beautiful color combination of (Code 900UU) Rally Red wrapped around a gorgeous (Code 408BG) Red Leather interior! Folks, this car is a showpiece, period! The recipient of a no-expense spared nut & bolt frame-off restoration, it has been driven less than 350 miles since completion. The fiberglass body is all original w/ no signs of any sort or damage or repairs whatsoever, and the factory correct Rally Red paint is absolutely stunning w/ a deep lustrous shine. The chrome bumpers, hood inserts, door handles, emblems, etc. are in show quality condition. The White Vinyl top is ‘AS NEW’ and is in perfect condition. She sits on correct cast aluminum knock-off wheels wrapped w/ new P215/70/R15 Michelin radial tires which ride much, much better than the factory original Polyglas tires. You will not find a more beautiful ’65 Corvette Roadster anywhere @ any price!

When you slide into the factory correct Red Leather interior, you will swear that it’s 1965 all over again! There are concours touches everywhere that meets the eye, as the Red Leatherseats, Red door panels, Red dash, & Red carpeting are simply flawless! Everything is in perfect working order throughout including the factory original gauges, lights, blinkers, etc., as well as the factory Power Windows, AM/FM Radio, & Power Antenna. Even the original clock & cigarette lighter work perfectly! All of the stainless trim, door handles, window cranks, etc. are also show quality! This is certainly one of the most beautiful & most perfect interiors that I have ever seen on a classic Corvette!

Pop open the hood and nestled inside the nicely detailed engine bay you will find the completely rebuilt 396/425 hp L78 motor wearing its factory correct colors as you would expect. The engine stamp shows the Suffix Code T0414IF (April 141965 396/425hp L78 motor) w/ the partial VIN (5116590). The completely rebuilt Muncie M21 4-Speed manual transmission is stamped w/ Muncie code P0426 (April 26, 1965), as well as the partial VIN (S116590). The rear end is stamped FA 42865 (3.70 Positraction April 28, 1965). With less than 350 miles since the frame-off restoration, you can imagine how tight & strong everything feels. She starts, idles, runs & drives beautifully in every way, and she has loads of power & torque as you would expect. This ’65 Corvette Convertible will get you from stoplight to stoplight before you can blink, and when you get her out on the highway she tracks straight and true due to the Michelin radial tires. No pulling no vibrations, just a super smooth ride.

This is an investment-grade 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible that will only appreciate in value in the coming years! When you factor in the no-expense spared frame-off restoration, the big-block 396/425hp performance, and arguably the most gorgeous color combination produced by Chevrolet in 1965, well it's really a no-brainer! Whether you are searching for a First Place show winner, or a true American sports car that you can drive & enjoy without any worries about reliability, this is your car!
