GREAT LOOKING C-10 CUSTOM CAB! 350 BORED TO 355, GREAT COLORS & VERY STRAIGHT!
1970 Chevrolet C-10
If you've been on our site before you know we sell a ton of 60's and 70's Chevy trucks. They're great looking whether 100% stock, fully customized or anywhere in between. Seldom, though, do we get one that's as clean as this 1970 Chevrolet C10 Custom Cab, and we certainly don't get many black ones! This stunner looks amazing in and out, with a rumble from the motor that can't be missed. Read on!Trucks are boxy, and that means there are lots of straight, flat panels to prevent sane individuals from wanting to paint them black and committing Hari Kari halfway through the project. Fortunately, the madman who prepped this truck was immune to such thoughts of self-preservation, and the results have to be seen to be believed. Check out the video link and watch the camera pan around; this thing is awfully straight! The panel gaps are much tighter than Chevy bothered to make them, too. It's not perfect and has some age to it, but a professional cut and buff would really take it up a notch and make the guys at the local cruise night really take notice. All of the aluminum and stainless trim was either carefully restored or replaced with new, as were the lights and lenses. All this, and it's the highly desirable short bed version. This truck is proof positive that bone stock can look ultra-cool.Inside, you're greeted by a relatively luxurious cabin thanks to the Custom trim package. This generation of Chevys really turned the corner from flat out farm vehicles to acceptable daily transportation, but such luxuries as "carpeting" was far from common. The Custom level fixed that while also bringing along nicer looking door panels and seat covers, and you can't argue with how good a red interior in a black truck looks. Gauges similar to what you'd find in the Camaro or Chevelle dominate your view, and these are surrounded by a three-spoke steering wheel that's very much like the one you'd get with a Camaro. A new Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo radio is in the center, just above a trio of auxiliary gauges that monitor the engine's vitals. There might be a little fading, but then again, red is notorious for doing that and if you're doing it right, you'll be too busy sitting behind the wheel to see it. Under the hood is a ubiquitous 350 V8, bored to 355 cubes and fitted with a mild cam. Presentation is spot on from the new power brake booster to the fresh orange paint on the engine to the fresh hoses. A four-barrel carb is underneath that chrome air cleaner, and there's an Edelbrock intake manifold feeding the strong-running small block. new tune up parts are in their places, and even factory style heat shields are where they should be. There's a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission feeding the original rear end, which hangs on a groundbreaking rear suspension that uses coil springs and long control arms instead of leaf springs. The ride quality with this setup was far and away the best in class, and the design and geometry were so good that the same basic design is still in use under modern NASCAR Sprint Cup cars. Long-tube headers feed a great-sounding Flowmaster dual exhaust and the stance is perfect on those 15X8 truck Rally wheels with big 225/70/15 radials. If you're going to own a truck, it ought to have a great look, style, power and comfort. Documentation helps, too, and this Chevy comes with its original Owner's Manual. Give us a call and take this black hauler home today!
