The story of this car starts with an elderly woman that purchased a hugger orange 69 Camaro new, and ends with the 2nd owner transforming this car into the rolling artwork it is today. The Camaro was born with a column-shifted 307 and standard interior and lived most of its life as such. Once the former owner got his hands on the car, it went straight to CAR or better known as Campbell Auto Restorations in Campbell California, to go under the knife. Bodywork was focused making the sheet metal laser straight, and ensuring that the gaps better than new. The side markers and wipers were shaved, but otherwise the car was kept stock looking. The two tone paint work is absolutely stunning. Jet black paint was used up top, which helps make the cowl hood look smaller, and Hugger Orange down low, separated by a lime green pinstripe. The entire lower half of the car is wrapped in 3M clear bra protection, since the car was built to be driven. Inward, the interior is both form and function. Recaro seats keep the driver and passenger planted, while Autometer Ultra-lite gauges nestled in a Detroit Speed dash keep track of the engine's vitals. A Safecraft Halon fire extinguisher and a full rollcage both keep occupants safe. Also, when track days are just too hot, crank up the Vintage Air to keep cool while maneuvering. The end result is a wicked Camaro thats been completely updated, yet Retains its classic style.
A custom built chassis hides under the floors, and bolted on its removable front subframe. The front sub features Ohlin coilover shocks riding inside Eibach springs, power rack-and-pinion steering, and fully adjustable upper and lower control arms. There's also a jungle-gym- looking labyrinth of bracing that keeps all the geometry rock-steady. In the rear, a three-link system complete with a Watts link and matching Ohlin coilovers was fabricated up. Lastly, the chassis was tied together with a full rollcage. Since stopping is as important as speed, the braking on the Camaro was overbuilt with huge six-piston monoblock calipers and 13.5-inch rotors on all four corners. The wheels are Kinesis K-5s (17x10.5-inch in front, and massive 18x13-inch in the rear), and helping the Camaro stick to the tarmac are Hoosier R-compound competition tires. A 572 big-block is filled with forged internals, and topped with Brodix heads, a matching intake, and a Holley 1050 Dominator. Behind that is a unique exhaust that uses 4 Dynomax race mufflers and four 2.5-inch tailpipes. When a little extra grunt is needed, a NOS fogger system is only the push of a button away. The nitrous system even has its own dedicated fuel tank, filled with 104-octane racing gas-a combination guaranteed to permanently affix a smile to any gearhead's face. Backing up this big-cubed engine is a suitably strong five-speed manual trans built by G-Force, which passes the torque back to a Winters full-floating housing with an aluminum Moser center section. A thorough TLD detail has just been performed to make sure that this Camaro meets our strict standards.
