1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210

Tall, flashy, and exceptionally fast gassers are a cool unique era in custom classics that command attention simply because they tower over the other cars at the shows, literally. You don't see these often, especially done like this. But when you want to be recognized even in a crowd of standouts, than you need a freshly-built gasser made from an icon like this 1955 Chevrolet 210.The paint, motor, and interior we believe all have less than 40 miles on it since restoration... and that's the exact first impression this Chevy gives. The slick black was applied over the exterior with a professional hand that took his time. It has a mirror-like finish that almost looks like a coat of armor. But its strength is also in the sheetmetal. The '55 Chevys have some very specific and intricate curves, and this coupe showcases them all with pride. But it's not just an investment in paint and body that has you attracted to this coupe, but also the way it nicely represents the gasser culture. After all, these were all about shedding weight and transferring force to the rear wheels. So it correctly has the front bumper removed, and high solid axle installed (and don't you just love how the world can now see those headers with the exhaust cutouts?!) But even as a race-ready gasser, this Chevy also keeps a little flair. The trim was all expertly deleted, and it still keeps the chrome rear bumper on the custom rear section. Even the 15-inch Rocket wheels are a customized double set that matches nicely. The overall effect is a gasser that is ready for the winner's circle everywhere from a drag race to the car show.Inside is more of that premium feel with the gasser's edge. It starts with an exceptionally fresh interior finished in dark charcoal leather. The bench seats carry the square pattern similar to what makes the Del Rays so desirable, and it's repeated on the all the side panels for a very uniform and premium presentation. This gasser properly also deletes some of the the added weight of some interior luxuries, but it doesn't feel stripped, because the dash has been expertly smoothed to a jet black appearance. You slip behind the Chevy stock two-spoke wheel that gives you a clear view of the factory speedometer. Of course, it's not the factory gauges that have all of your attention. The large AutoMeter tach on the column, auxiliary readouts below the dash, and the barefoot accelerator pedal are all nice reminders of the monster under the hood. The engine bay is filled with freshly-built big block power. 454 cubic-inches weren't enough, so this was bored out to 468ci total! Plus, there were go-fast goodies added like a Holley double pumper four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, electric fan, and performance headers. You've already seen how great that last feature looks through the wheel wells, but what you might not notice, is that the full dual exhaust exits behind the doors. This gives the glasspacks plenty of time to create a monstrous roar, or you can just open the cutout covers for the ultimate experience. Making sure that all this power gets to the ground properly is a stout TH350 three-speed automatic that feeds a Positraction rear end. And while wide 255/60R15 BF Goodrich rear tires keep the rubber on the road, the upgraded front disc brakes help you keep it all under control with ease. This is the complete gasser package for both show and go. And with less than 40 miles since the restoration, we know this iconic classic will be rumbling its way out of our showroom soon. Call now!!
