1955 Chevrolet Handyman 2 Door Wagon

Everyone loves a wagon!
An old school wagon epitomizes good times with family and friends. Memories of road trips to the lake and the beach. Everybody has a fond wagon memory and this beautiful 55 Chevy Handyman wagon is ready for you to start making some new memories this weekend.

This particular 1955 Chevrolet Handyman 2 door wagon has undergone a complete, frame off, nut and bolt restoration
and with under 3,000 miles since completion this wagon is just getting broken in and running great. It's ready, reliable and has all the creature comforts of a late model vehicle.
I recently drove it down the coast from Santa Barbara and I can tell you this car loves the open road. It runs strong,
rides beautifully, never overheats, the A/C blows ice cold,
it stops on a dime and is just a pleasure to drive.

Too much to mention,is a term that is over used in the automotive industry but in this case it really applies.
This car has it all and needs nothing, literally.
But I am going to try to mention several of the key features here and then post a list below. I will, no doubt forget a few features. So if you have questions please email me through Ebay and l'll try to answer as quickly as possible.

Exterior: Fantastic Sunset Red Metalic paint. It'sbeautiful and glossy. This car is meant to drive so if you examine it super closely you will find a few extremely minor chips or scuffs. Nothing more than a few millimeters in size and nothing consequential to the overall appearance of the car.
Since the restoration was a frame off, the car has been color matched in all the right places including firewall, jambs, wheel wells and underside. The cream white roof seems to have a slight pearl essence to it and brings back the
50's feel of two-tone cars.

The body is all steel and very straight with no signs of bondo or patches and the panel gaps are all correct for how cars came
off the assembly line in 1955. There are no signs of rust or rot anywhere on the vehicle. The emblems and bright work are also excellent and the custom grill is a fine improvement over the original. The glass (and this car has plenty of it) is also excellent and all rubber seals appear to have been replaced.

The Handyman has a great stance with just the right amount of lowering provided by dropped spindles, tubular control arms and lowering springs in the rearand
none of the hassles that come with air bags. The wheels are 17 inch chromed Vision 5 spokes wrapped in Nexen radials showing minimal wear. I would call this car visually a 9 out of 10.

Drive Train: This car was built for reliable road runs to weekend car shows and Saturday night cruises so you won't find any full blown race motors here. The engine is a 350 Chevy with aluminum heads, a mild cam, Street Demon carb and Sanderson headers. Plenty of power but still reliable and
pretty good on gas. Part of that decent gas mileage comes from the 700R4 automatic transmission with overdrive
and a lock up kit. Also the rear is a GM 10 bolt with highway friendly gearing. I don't know the ratio but would guess it to be in the 3:08 to 3:23 range.
The motor starts right up and runs well throughout the RPM range without exceptionand the trans also shifts perfectly.

Interior: This is possibly the most impressive part of the wagon. The entire interior has been beautifully redone in cream colored leather and maroon colored carpet to match the exterior color scheme. The same leather covers the aluminum billet steering wheel. The headliner has also been replaced.
No expense was spared on the restoration of this wagon.
The buckets seats are gorgeous with a matching custom console that houses the LED backlit billet power window switches that operate the best working power windows I have ever had in a street rod. The sounds system features 4 speakers and a hidden sub woofer with 2 amplifiers and is driven by a console mounted iPad Mini. The iPad also offers voice navigation and doubles as the view screen for the
back up camera. Interior temperature is maintained by a complete Vintage Air, heat and air conditioning system with factory style, in dash, controls. This is all topped off by red LED under dash curtesy lighting.

Other features: Everywhere your look on the wagon you'll see plenty of high quality components.
In the engine bay you'll find an aluminum billet
serpentine belt drive system with a chromed high output alternator an a chromed A/C compressor, oversized aluminum radiator with polished aluminum recovery tank,
CPP power steering with polished aluminum tank.
As well as a chromed master cylinder with chromed mini booster. Underneath you have 2.5 inch dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers and chrome tipped exhaust as well as an undercarriage that is as pretty as the top side of the car.
