1986 Chevrolet C-10

Sometimes you just want a nice, clean, classic truck. Not a beater, not someone else's old work truck, but something that stands out from the crowd, a truck that gets nods of approval in the parking lot, a truck that looks and runs great that doesn't cost a fortune. Case in point? This extremely clean 1986 Chevrolet C10 pickup.Finished in eye-catching handsome bright, GM Velocity Yellow, the regular cab/short bed style is the one to own if you're not using it to move building materials. Trim, quite athletic with a strong small block V8 under the hood, and arguably the most handsome of the bunch, this C10 is incredibly well dressed for coming up on three decades of life. Thanks to an easy life in the warm, dry southern US, the bodywork is in great shape, and with a few subtle mods like the shaved door handles and billet grille, it looks fantastic. The chrome and stainless are still bright, the glass is clear, and the bed is protected by a spray-in bedliner that looks good and makes it ready to do some work on the weekends. The interior is beautifully finished using black vinyl and black and yellow houndstooth fabric for an awesome retro look. There are black carpets on the floor and custom lower door panels to tie it all together. In contrast to some of the more basic trucks, that carpet adds a level of luxury that is sorely missing when all you get is a rubber mat. There are also options like A/C, a tilt wheel, and power windows, so it's obvious that someone had plans for this truck that didn't necessarily involve dirty boots and it feels like the proverbial "Texas limousine" rather than a blue collar workhorse. The dash and gauges are in excellent shape with all the instruments fully operational, but the factory radio has been replaced by a newer digital AM/FM/CD stereo head unit that's a big improvement over the original gear. This is a very impressive interior that has clearly been well-maintained and had a reasonable pile of money spent on it.The great thing about old trucks is that they are perhaps the closest living relatives to the mighty muscle cars. V8 power, rear-wheel drive, and a sturdy suspension all give this truck the feeling that it could haul anything. Looking almost completely stock, the transplanted 350 cubic inch V8 runs extremely well, delivering smooth power and torque without a hiccup. Most of the original components are still in place, including the air cleaner, accessories, and even the original stamped steel valve covers, but there are upgrades like an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and aluminum intake manifold. Long-tube headers dump into a custom dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, so it has that muscle car rumble that everyone loves. A 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission makes it a great highway cruiser, and it's got a great stance thanks to black Rally wheels and fat 275/60/15 performance radials.Take this truck just about anywhere and you will undoubtedly hear, "Nice truck," and get an approving nod. These were handsome machines when new and today are gaining respect as collector's items. Call today!
