1966 Chevrolet Chevelle

1966 Chevelle SS tribute car. This beautiful red metallic coupe started its life as a Malibu black interior 327 cu inch small block car with an automatic transmission shifter on the column. I bought the car 2 years ago and got this survivor muscle car back on the road. The body was in good shape but it hadn't run in years I removed the small block engine( not original) and replaced it with a 396 cu inch big block out of a 1070 Chevy C-10 1/2 ton pickup truck. but not before I put in a newcomp cams hydraulic camshaft new valve springs valve seals aluminum intake manifold all new gasket set and a Holley 4 barrel carb. I matched itup with a 400 turbo automatic transmission and a 2500 rpm stall converter to handle the great sounding rough idle and the extra power of the Big Block Chevy. The car had been painted about ten years ago and was too nice to redo. I also have brand new Flow Master mufflers on custom dual exhaust pipes that end just past the rear bumper.

This is a true survivor car with its original floor boards and trunk still in tact. There is a small patch in the trunk but not big enough to warrant and replacement sheet metal. When the car was painted they replaced the lower rocker panels on each side behind the rear wheels but all of the other sheet metal including the rear quarters is from the factory. I replaced the Malibu and small block emblems with the Super Sport and 396 emblems and put on the SS hood. I also replaced all hoses fuel tank brake lines and fluid. I also put on new radial tires on theCrager SS type wheels. New battery also. The car starts and runs very good and it is sweet to hear that big block rumble under the SS hood. It is very hard to tell that it isn't a real SS! The factory radio was not in the car when I purchased it and I am not sure of the whereabouts. It has bucket seats original headlinerno power steeringand no power brakes. It does steer easily however and is very fun to drive. There are some minor scratches but overall a very nice car.If you replaced or reworked some of the stainless and the window felts this car could easily be in the $35000 range. There are some sanding marks on the door handles and drip moldings but they can easily be replaced. It is a great driver or show car and anyone would be proud to have it in their driveway. The headliner has a couple small blems but it doesn't need replacing it is loose in a couple areas I replaced the door panels and arm rests and they look great. The seats are in great condition with only a small rip in the drivers seat.

These cars are very hard to find in this condition and are one if not the best looking muscle cars of all time. I enjoy finding these cars and getting them back on the road again. I am in search of my next project and ready to sell this one! Feel free to call me and discuss this car in detail. You can reach me at 641-420-1266. This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to sell and end this auction at any time.
