This stunning Cameo has been restored several years ago and still in excellent overall condition. She is a three owner truck direct from Texas; the original owner was a contractor for the King Ranch below Austin and used her sparingly. Under carriage is obviously, exceptionally clean. All original chromeis very nice, complete, in place with polished stainless as well. The Bombay Ivory/Cardinal Red lacquer paint is still bright and shiny with only a few chips and minor defects. No filler but a couple paint blisters down low. TheOEM glass is very decent without chips or cracks, but new glass and gaskets are available.Red clothinterior is excellent with all accessory items in place. Gages all work well, but rare original radio only works occasionally. Wood bed is also very good but could use another varnish coat.
This original V/8 truckhas a vintage 283/2 barrelwith the original 3-speed. She starts right up and drives very well. Wheels (six lug), rings and caps are excellent rare original items with newer white wall tires. Even the horn works!!
The serial number indicates that this truck was a mid-production Kansas City unit of 2244 total made and evidently one of ~1200 with a V-8, one of ~1000 white/red, and from the majority with standard transmission. With 160 HP, she is quite the well-dressed hauler and will make a very nice driver/show truck.
