1978 Chevrolet Corvette

Up for auction is my 1978 Corvette silver anniversary model that runs and drives as good as it looks. This is a California car from new so has no rust at all (see underbody photos). The car has been well maintained its entire life and still retains its original engine, smog equipment,transmission and rear end. I have been an Ebay member for many years and sold a few cars and I have found it best to describe the car in categories as listed below.
DRIVETRAIN- The car retains its original matching number engine.The engine fires up instantly with no smoke and very good oil pressure (60lbs) it idles smoothly and pulls strong. It does not leak or burn any oil and it has recentlyhad its water pump, alternator, starter, fuel pump,belts and valve cover gaskets replaced. The engine runs cool even on hot days and I have not seen it go past 200 even with the A/C on.(see photo oftemp and oil gauges)The transmission is the original turbo 350 and shifts great. The rear end does not clunk or whine and the half shaft U joints have been replaced.
SUSPENSION/STEERING- The rearshock absorbers are new and the rear iron leaf spring has been replaced by a modern composite model for better handling and less weight. I have owned four C3 corvettes and this is the most responsive handling one I have owned. The Factory alloy wheels have been polished and new lug nuts and center caps have been added. The tires are newer 225/70 B.F Goodrich T.A radials with less than a 1000 miles on them.
BRAKES- The brakes work well with a firm feel andno pulling or juddering. The master cylinder, flexible brake lines and booster have been recently replaced.
BODY- The Corvette was originally painted in two tone silver / gray (see trim tag photo)but is now all gray. The paint is about 5 years old but still looks great. The front bumper was touched up recently and is a slightly different shade but is only noticeable in bright sunlight. The doors have great shut lines and open and close easily. The glass is in excellent condition apart from the drivers door glass that has some light scratches.
INTERIOR- The Oyster colored interior is mostly original and still shows well (see photos) all the gauges work including the clock and it has a modern Pioneer am/fm cd stereo with four speakers fitted in the factory locations and an electric antenna. The courtesy lights all work as do the factory seat belts.
Overall this Corvette is in very good condition and can be enjoyed by the next owner immediately. The only reason I am selling it is because I recently bought a Sunbeam Tiger and I am out of room and something must go. I forgot to mention that the corvette comes with itsoriginaltire jack and handle tied down in its compartment behind the passenger seat and a 1978 owners manual in the glove box. The wheel removal instructions decal is still attached to the jack compartment lid.
