1954 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210
This is a 1954 ChevyBelair 4-door that I have been working on for a year or so. It has plates and insurance and I have driven it 449 miles with no problems. Body, paint and some of the glass are original this car has been in Arizona all of its life. It has only a light surface rust NO RUSTHOLES OR BONDO!It has been clearcoated with satin paint to protect the original Arizona "sun burn" Patina. The doors open and shut the windows roll up and down.Drive train is a good running low mileage 305 chevy V8 equipped with Edelbrock intake andStreet Demon carb.rated at 200+ horsepower. (twice what the car was born with). Transmission is a fresh1992 700R4 with overdrive and B&M stylecooler. Rear is chevy S10with 3:42 positraction and new driveline. Radiator is new 3-row aluminum. Brakes are all new 11" disc up front with dual diaphragm booster and modern dual master cylinder on firewall. rear brakes are rebuilt stock S10 drums. Rear parking brake is also S10 and is fully functional. Shifter is newfloor mounted Lokar. All wiring is a new 12 volt system with Painless fuse panel, all switches, wiresand bulbs etc. are new. Theinstrument panel isnew with Dolphingauges that all work. Turn signals that work. Brake lights work.New Windshield with rubber seal. New carpet with insulation from ACC. New Battery.Air cleaner is retro Cadillac. New Chrome one wire alternator. Electronic ignition.New shocks. New fuel lines. New brake lines. New custom dual exhaust with glasspacks.
Please note this car runs great and is fine like it is but in my opinion could be better with a few improvements as follows:
Needs aheadliner, Two missing grill teeth. Vent windows work but are sticky. Right exhaust doughnut leaks. Brakes work well but coulduse a proper 2-person bleeding. I work by myself andgravity bledthem. No spare or jack.Window channels are brittle and could be replaced.Needs rubber door seals.Horn does not work.Roof sun visor and skirts were removed by previous owner. Dome light does not work.
