1951 Chevrolet Suburban Carryall Parts Truck GMC
1951 Chevrolet Suburban
This is a 1951 Carryall Suburban parts truck which is dismantled and in pieces. No title or serial number plate. We can make a bill of sale if needed.
Well worth the bid price. We have had to pay this much or more just for hood, a rear door, or a couple of patch panels.
Photo is for illustration purposes only, wheels rims tires and some other parts may have been removed or changed out.
The basics to make a running vehicle are still here...frame, engine, drive train, rear doors, and some usable sheet metal.
It was a military truck originally, painted olive drab.Thenrepainted to standard forester green and sold to private owners in Indianapolis. Appears to have been cornered on theleft front drivers side, but damage was mostly repaired by someone decades ago. The left front fender was changed and we are not sure about the other fenders either.
Evidently used for many years in Indiana, which is a heavy road-salt-use state.
Front floors and lower cowl areas rusted and gone either from salt, wet shoes, and/or leaking heater core, as well as the lower firewall. Lower side body areas rusted out.
Rear wooden floor was cut up and patched by someone decades ago in order to repair rear end.
Dash seems mostly intact.
Bottom of gas tank is rusted away. Tank has been removed from the frame.
No gauges,heater, or wiper motor.
No radiator.
No lights or trim rings.
You will need to come see inIndiana, we have no way of shipping or crating. Easily accessed off I-65 south of Chicago.
Some parts and areas can be photographed upon request, but we would rather you come and look before you decide if you can use it or not.
For somebody interested in making patch panels for a restoration of a GMC or a Chevy Advance Design pickup or suburban, there may be some good sheet metal. Or somebody could make a rat rod out of what is here.
Included are fenders, roof, hood, inner fenders, and rear barn doors. There is glass in one of the rear doors.
There is no usable side glass or windshield, and no window trim is included in this sale. We can includesome of the old glasses if needed for making a template.
The body has been dismantled and removed from the frame.
Engine is out of the truck and is seized. It may or may not be original 1951, we have no way of knowing.
Transmission is out of the truck and the condition is unknown. It may or may not be original 1951, we have no way of knowing.
There are two frontaxle assemblies. One is on the ground, the other is on the frame.
The frame and four aftermarket wheels are included, with tires that are weather checked and lacking tread. The tires and wheels shown in the photo are not included.
As far as we know the rear end and rear axle are good, but have no way of knowing.
This truck has not run for many decades.
Brakes where removed from the frame, but some brake parts are included.
All wiring and trim was stripped out.
The frame is solid as far as we know. We could not find any problems in the rear shackle area where structural issues usually start.
There are no interior seats or trim items. No usable running boards but there are good brackets.
The original bumpers come with the truck.
