1966 Corvette Convertible, Original Motor L79, 4 Speed!!

1966 Chevrolet Corvette

Just acquired from the long term owner, this is a very good, driver quality 1966 Corvette Roadster that retainsits original matching number, factory installed motor, transmission, and rear end. The modifications to this car from original are actually very minor: Rally wheels, Hurst shifter, and an added center armrest cushion. The car is a change of color for the original code 976 Nassau Blue to a darker shade of Blue, painted over 25 years ago. The original trim tag verifies it to be a Nassau Blue car with Black Standard interior. The entire drivetrain is original to the car starting with engine block casting #3858174 correct front pad stamping of VIN # 194676S122169 and a suffixcode stamping of F0419HT Denoting it to be an L79 327-350HP motor with manual 4-speed transmission. The Transmission is also original to the car having the VINstamping of 6122169. The rear end is correct, properly dated housing and a code AN 3:55 Posirear end ratio. The body is unmodified from original with good panel fit and no serious collision damage but we do see a left front fender previous repair over wheel opening, nicely done long ago. Hidden headlamps operate properly. Paint is NOT as good as photos portray. There are numerous small nicks and chips and the car can be used as-is but will likely receive an overall repaint, done best back to the attractive original Nassau Blue. Interior is mostly original and actually very decent and serviceable. Carpet is fair showing some wear. RT door panel armrest is damaged. Dash is all original and all gauges including tachometerfunction. Radio is original AM-FM factory installed unit. The soft top is good with no real damage but is not mint. The soft top frame is rust free. All glass is good. Car runs and drives very well and we do know that the prior owner had the original motor rebuilt in the early 2000's to stock specs. The car has had very little use since then, he tell us likely less than 4000 miles. The Frame of the car is solid with no damage or rust issues whatsoever. Tires are good in the tread but are over ten years oldshowing some cracking in the treads. Clutch, gearbox, drivetrain all are excellent and car shifts smoothly and runs very strong. Exhaust is good and near new front to back. This is a great mid-yearCorvette Roadster with the desirable Hi-Performace L79 Drivetrain. It is a matching number car and basically bone stock. It can be driven and enjoyed as is or be a great candidate for a restoration. The original color combination is the most desirableof the 1966 model year.
