1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS6

We know why you stopped on this listing. Everyone wants to know if a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle has the 454 LS6 under the hood. Not only is it that true, but this is the numbers-matching big block with possibly less than 58K miles on the whole coupe. More than just a big motor you've got total control with a four-speed manual, and show-ready presence of the original colors looking stunning. Yup, this is the ultimate muscle car. Period. This coupe is even more stunning in person that it is in the pictures. The body looks amazing, and the secret to that is because it has been exposed to less hazards than many of the others. In fact, this real-deal LS6 could almost be considered a barn find. It has been in the car of the same family for over 20 years, and much of that, hidden away and off the road. That means nearly two decades years of not having people lean on the fenders at car shows trying to get a closer look at the rare motor. So while the ultra-low mileage is undocumented, spending almost 20 years off the road makes us believe the odometer. Beyond just being hidden away, this one has been under very good care. That's why all the colors are factory correct and looks so good. The black SS stripes, blacked-out grille and vinyl padded roof are a nice aggression against the Classic White. Plus, 1970 had some of the best brightwork on the SS cars surrounding the headlights, wide front bumper, all that side trim, and the rear bumper with integrated taillight housings. But for those who just want the ultimate muscle machine, this has all the details right like the cowl induction hood, locking pins, and Super Sport Mag wheels. Black vinyl inside is great not only because it matches with the exterior's stripes and roof, but it's also everyone's favorite muscle car interior color. The seats, door panels, carpeting, headliner, and everything else just feels like there has been real care and investment in keeping it original. It gives you a sense of the owner's pride when resisting the temptation to change the factory front bench seat for buckets to showcase the Hurst shifter. It's this perseverance that really makes the car even more of a standout today. When you slip behind the correct SS wheel, and see the U14 gauge pack that includes a very welcomed factory tach. The driver-oriented dash looks amazing, especially with all the factory elements in place like the hear/defrost controls and the original AM radio. There are plenty of Chevelles that have been updated to fit more modern times (we even have a great ones like that for sale, too) but if you appreciate a car that can instantly transport you back to 1970, this is your time machine. But what really makes this the star of any show is the numbers-matching optional 454 LS6 big-block that was historically UNDERRATED at 450 hp. This was the only year for the LS6 option - a brief moment in time when GM went wild and insurance and emissions rules had not caught on. The power is unmistakable the moment you fire up the V8 and the dual exhaust makes its presence known. Everything you want on this motor is correct the chrome valve covers, intake diaphragm sealing to the cowl induction hood, correct big Holley four-barrel carburetor, etc. Only around 3,500 Chevelles were built in 1970 with this top dog motor and the full control of a four-speed. So we'll bet you'll never find an original one this nice or with such low miles ever again. But while the coupe's historic significances is epic and apparent, the massive power combined with great driving features like power steering and front disc brakes will mean you can't resist adding a few miles to the odometer.Complete with owner's manual, this is the car you aspired to decades ago but slipped away. Today this time capsule is available in that same condition. Don't let your second chance at the dream slip away. Call today!!!
