1955 Chevrolet Corvette 265 V-8 2 speed automatic power glide trans. White/Red interior. 51,266 Actual shown miles. The car was purchased in early 1955 and has a very low two digit vin. The plates that are on the car matched the registration until 1977. All paperwork inhand, this vehicle comes with California pink slip (title) in the original owners name.
In 1978 the car was purchased by a collector and stored in California until our Museum purchased it. Since it is a California car, it has never been in the snow. So in recap the first owner 1955-1977 (22 years). The collector 1978-2014 had vehicle in storage in California for 36 years.Our museum has owned the vehicle for 2 years. We are in the Museum business sellinghalf a dozen or so classichighland and exotic cars monthly. We buy cars only with history!!
This car is a one ownerCalifornia registered anddocumented. We have two buyers for cars/parts/automobiles and pride ourselves in gas pumps, signs, soda machines, motors on stand and license plates. If you need it we could possibly have it, or will get it for you.
We believe this car has been painted but still has some original paint on it with the usual checking. Everything is as it was, the body, top and interior. This car needs a complete restoration.
We bought this car not running and not able toroll. We found that our shop rebuilt the carburetor, tuned it up a little and had frozen wheel cylinder and brakes. Now by video you can see it runs and drives!!
Please check all the pictures and feel free to have the carinspected at any time. We feel this car was a victim in storage as thecollector got older and got sick including Alzheimers. So the family liquidated the inventory of cars of his collection. A NCRS judgelooked over the car and said people have stolen parts and so on and stated it was a very nice car for restoration.
Just soeverybodyknows we are not listing the last 2 digits of the vin because we have a museum customer whowants this car, but we have yet to get together on price. (close though)
This car is not listed in the Corvette Registry and we know the customer wants to paint the car pennant blue. We pride ourselves in history and this car is polo white with sportsman red. No color changes on our part. The transmission is poor and leaks but the car drives well, but please replace it. The body has damage, left front fender, a small spot to be re-fiber glassed. Needs a six inchdriver side molding. A new paint job and misc. parts. Please look close at the pictures and makes yourown decision on the condition.
If in fact this car does not sell we will start our restoration. We have got prices for a nice driver to nut and bolt. We would do a driver and in areasonable amount of time out of our shop. We will have a real 1955 Corvette for a great price.

This car is being sold as is with title, odometer statement and notarized Bill of Sale. There are no returns. So please bidafter looking at the picturesclosely (they were done with a real camera) orhave the car inspected. There are many good corvette shops in New England that specialize in a complete appraisal and 300 point check sheets (at your cost). Good luck and goodbidding. Also, by the way this is the cheapest running and driving 1955 Corvette on the planet!!
We have now positioned this car for sale in the Barn Finds Section of our museum. We reserve the right to remove it from eBay, as its also for sale locally.
