1966 Chevrolet Chevelle

1966 Chevelle

I am the fourth owner of this true southern Belle. This car spent its entire life in Tennessee up until September of 2015. Between 2009 and 2011 it went through a full photo documented rotisserie restoration.

This car, ith its style, ooks and thundering big block has a hard time with being categorized. Is it a Hot Rod? Muscle Car? Pro Touring? RestoMod? Street Machine? Street Cruiser? It fits many categories doesn’t it?

Starting with a 454 that was bored .030 to bring the cubes up to 468, he engine includes SPP Flat Top Pistons. It is a solid lifter engine, ut with the Poly Locks and the roller rockers they never need to be adjusted. 1969 Corvette Square Port Heads, eiand Intake, eads and intake have been professionally ported and polished to match. An 850 AED carb tops the intake. The four bolt main motor is using a steel crank. Exhaust runs through HPC coated Sanderson Headers into custom bent exhaust. It fits tight to the body with no rattles and doesn’t hang low or out of place. Ignition is all MSD, izzy, AL box and coil. The engine dyno’d at around 550hp, ith 10:1 compression and yet it still runs on pump gas. All that power, nd yet it cruises down the road nicely. But stomp on it, nd hang on! A huge aluminum radiator keeps everything in check, his one runs cool No overheating problems here.

Power goes into the Muncie Rock Crusher M22 by way of a GM Nodular 12lb flywheel that has been balanced to the engine. An Organic Zoom clutch is rated at 700hp. The trans has a blowshield as well. A custom 3” driveshaft with large U joints is also balanced and feeds the power into a new Posi 12 bolt Moser rear with 3:55 gears. The Muncie is very tight, o sloppy shifts here.

The front suspension is all new with new bushings, yrods etc. All new front disc brakes and QA1 adjustable coilovers. The rear has all new drum brakes and RideTech coilovers as well as an adjustable 4 Link system. Billet Specialties Bonneville G rims are at all four corners, 8x8 front and 20x8.5 rears. The car sits right and handles very nicely.

Everything under the car is new and well done. Fuel lines, rake lines, mergency brake cables etc, tc. Even the gas tank is new also. The floors on this car are 100% original and are perfect. Painted chassis black, here are no areas that have been fixed or repaired. This is by far the most solid Chevelle I have ever had the pleasure of owning.

The body is straight, nd the paint is flat and shiny. The rear quarters are the original ones to this car. No patch panels or replacement. The doors and fenders as well as the stock flat hood are in incredible shape as well. The car has been painted back to its original color of Mist Blue Metallic. I was told it was painted using DuPont Chromabase. The paint is flat having been sanded and buffed to a nice gloss. There are a few chips and minor imperfections though. She’s a driver, ot a trailer queen. I would rate the paint as a high 7-8, lthough I am really fussy, ou may think it is better and rate it higher.

All trim fits really nicely; all weatherstrips are new as are the door fuzzies. All the glass is new as well and is factory tint glass. The interior is also new and again is in the factory original color. This one still has the factory bench seat and four speed as it was born with. The dash has been upgraded with the factory style gauges instead of “Idiot” lights. All are in working order and seem accurate. The only gauge hanging under the dash is the “Knee Knocker” Tach. There is an aftermarket stereo, actory looking though.

Are you are looking for a bad to the bone hot rod Chevelle, ut also something that has not been cut up, hen this is the car for you. Adjust the coilovers up and put stock wheels on it and you would think it was a fully restored car. Until you cranked the key that is!

If you have any questions then please reach out to me, will answer everything I can as honestly as possible. I am a true car guy; I am not a dealer trying to put something over on anyone. After a nearly ten year search I have finally tracked down and bought the 1955 Chevy I drove back when I was in high school. I expected to own this Chevelle for a long time, ut with the return of the 55, his car has to go. Only so much room and money.

Should you have any questions or would like to talk please message me and I will supply my phone number and email address that way.

Thanks for looking........
