History - Ameticulously well cared for 1965 Cadillac Coupe De Ville family heirloom that had been in the same family since sold new is nowpresented to you at auction. Karens grandfather purchased the Cadillac new in 1965 in California. Shequoted saying that financing was not his thing like everything else he would purchase, so he had the Deville paid in cash in full at the time. Having it always garaged &pampered. The Cadillac had been in hispossession upuntil his passing in 1984 where it wasgivento his son, it belonged in the son's possessionup until his passing in 2004. That's where it went to the original owner sister, Karens mother. Upuntil 2021 both of her parents had passed & Karen hadinherited her grandfathers Cadillac (aboveyou'll see a photo of Karenstanding next to theCadillac) Through thepast fewdecades as mentioned it was mostly garaged,hardly being driven, & was taken out every month to be driven around the block to keep the fluids flowing (also having a DMV record of the non-operational registration status from 2004-2022 confirming of it not beingregistered for the road through those years)
As amazing as the story is on this Cadillac the condition isremarkably asimpressive! Being original & in great shape! Still retaining it's original black & yellow Californiaplates. This DeVille has alway's resided & has never left the state of California. The family knew how important theCadillac was to theoriginalowner trying to keep it covered, preserved & well kept aseffortfullypossible.
A great example of a solid dry classic automobile. Never been in any accidents or has had any rust issues. Finished in it's factory Color Cape Ivory, it wasmentionedthe paint is original with taking a closer lookI would say paint is mostly original with just some areas & spots that was done decades ago. Paint showsvery well but looking up closeryou'll notice normal wear for it's age chips, minor dings, touch ups, very minor surface rust &ect..
As well the chrome, trim & interior are original as well & show exceptionally well for being un-restored. The originality & condition of the interior really stands out on the Coupe down to the detail, an immaculate headliner, package tray, dash &gaugesagain showexceptionally well for being original. Factory optionsincludecold working AC, working power windows, tilt telescopicsteering wheel. Can't seem to get the radio going (not sure if there's a trick to it) with all lights & gauges in workingcondition.
Under the hood it appear's stock with it's 7.0L 429 V8 / automatictransmission & showing 102k original mileage, was said the mileage arecorrect. Mechanically the Cadillac is running & driving in great shape with the engine being sound. Has power steering. Both transmission shifts &brakes work both fine. Hasn't been nearly driven as much as it should through the years, so after running it fora while i'll noticed some blow by when opening from under the hood which may relate. TheCadillac is a great car to cruise &I get plenty of attention whenever it is driven. Recently it wasgiven a tune up in these past few months as well as back in 2017 Cadillac had gone thru a extensive tune up that included
2017 service - plugs - wires - cap, rotor, points - remove & clean radiator - replaced all radiator hoses / new thermostat / new coolant - trans service - rear diff service - remove gas tank & cleaned - replaced gas lines & cleaned carb - new tires - new starter - fuel filter & oil change - gone thru brakes shoes & bearings axles, Over $3500 in service receipts on hand
Recentlywithin these past few months the service done is listed below 2024 Service - carb rebuilt - oil change & filter - spark plugs - new battery -brakes serviced
Keep in mindCadillac is un-restored & has normal wear for being close to 65 years old. Not beingadvertised as a restored trailer queen, but original & in great shape for being that. I've added & uploaded plenty of extra photos & video so please scroll all the way down & examine all pics throughly.
Cadillac comes with a cleanCalifornia title & is currentlyregistered here in CA until Aug 2024 - Have service records that go along with sale. I am a private seller within recent monthsacquired this gem through the hands of the family who owned it.
