Description:

1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

Owned for more than 50 years, bought as the original car that had been wrecked in front with a bad repair warping the fenders and leaking fluid from every possible place; the car originally was silver and then repainted white. A straight front end was found and installed, then repainted an original 1957 color, Dakota Red. A long story here restoring engine and carburetors, jumping forward to about 10 years ago when I bought a 1994 Caprice Police car with 45k miles, put in the front end clip trans and 'positraction' rear end. Now with disk brakes and LT1 engine, it goes and stops on demand, not so well with drum brakes as it weighed two and a half tons ('57 window sticker $7,286). The car has spent 99% of its life in my garage, the chrome is worn on the bumpers, the paint is thin on the hood and trunk lid. I've put less than 5k miles on it in total, my longest drive was from Morgan Hill to Half Moon Bay for my Daughter's wedding.
