1989 Cadillac Allante
Allante’ was Cadillac's turning point in advanced technology, and definitely speaks volumes about
the build quality and engineering that the Cadillac team put into these automobiles. In 1989 a torquey
4.5L V8 replaced the earlier 4.1 L V8. The chiseled Italian body, sumptuous hand stitched
leather interior, advanced automotive refinements and classic top-down roadster platform make thisparticular
Allante an excellent choicefor an investment grade collectable -
The original pearl white is a great choice, looking very high-tech, elegant, and a perfect match for the Allante’s
beautiful body lines. The Allante was insanely expensive to build. In today’s dollars, it would represent a
$140,000.00 investment. Cadillac would ship the chassis to Italy to have the entire Body and Interior Hand Fitted
by Pininfarina. Then, Pininfarina wouldship the completed bodies interiors, and chassis back to America
on a specially-configured Boeing 747.
Fortunately this Allante has aged quite well because of limited ownership and excellent care. Fit and finish are very
good,with just 62,712 original miles. It is obviously been a favorite vehicle of mine,
The paint is completely original, with perfectblack/charcoal leather
interior that is very inviting,with deep bucket seats as comfortable as they look.
Along with the beautiful interior leather, the very high tech fully functional gauges will bring a smile every time it starts-up.
The original manual operated soft top is very quick and easy to put up and down and is in excellent original condition.
The engine bay is clean and is all stock of course. Thanks to attentive regular GM service, the A/C system will freeze you out,
and she runs and drives as if just driven off the showroom floor. The 4-speed automatic transmission, with lock-out overdrive,
is quick to grab a lower gear when required. The suspension is supple without being luxury car clumsy. The 4-wheel discs
with ABS are standard, and live behind factory alloy wheels which wear 225/55/16 radials.
