Description:

1992 Cadillac Allante

1992 Cadillac Allante with removable hardtop and 53,548 miles. This car sold for $65,000 in 1992. That year, there were 1,971 Allantes made and about 15%, or about 300, came with the $7000 hardtop option which included the digital dash. Car runs and looks virtually like new. Everything works. Excellent condition.

The following work was done over the last two years. It was running rough. After doing the following work, which helped some, we discovered the primary problem was the main computer control module, which was also replaced. None-the-less the following work was done: replaced all ignition components including distributor, ignition coil, spark plugs and wires, replaced all fuel injectors, replaced all sensors including oxygensensors, coolant temperature sensor, air charge temperature sensor, throttle position sensor, MAP sensor, fuel pressure sensor, probably others I can’tremember, serpentine belt, thermostat, replaced rear Bose speakers and amplifiers (front ones were done by the previous owner). The previous owner also replaced the entire Bosch ABS breaking system at a cost of $2164. I also replaced the oil pan at a cost of about $1000. This was purchased from AllanteSource who replaces the aluminum drain plug sleeve with a steel one. This aluminum sleeve stripping out is a common known problem with the Allantes. All in, I spent about $5000 in upgrades, parts and labor, over the past two years. Shop Service Manual included. One very interesting component to this car is that you do NOT need an OBD (On-board diagnostics) reader to read the codes on the car. The service manual gives you the sequence of buttons to push to bring up all code history, code library, can erase codes, and then cycle the car (driving about 30 munites at varying speeds) to get any current codes. Also includes the OBD1 to OBD2 conversion interface. I bought this before I realized you don't need it.

I was side-swiped in March 2023.The damage was minor and cost $2500 to professionally repair. Passenger side front fender replaced. No mechanical damage. The insurance company appraisedthe car at $12,990.
